7: Depression

Jack had known Alex was suffering with a mental illness called depression. He has even helped with it at times. He was used to Alex being silent at times for no reason and other symptoms but one day, one day that changed.
It was a sunny March day. Jack had suggested that he and Alex bake cookies. Alex agreed. Jack thought it would just be a normal activity for them.

"Hey babe?" Alex asked quietly.
"Yeah?" Jack answered.
"Can you go get me a towel? I kinda spilt flour everywhere." He laughed nervously.
Jack said a quick sure before running to the bathroom. When he walked back he heard singing. He hadn't heard Alex sing in months. Too afraid to be judged he stayed silent. So when this happend Jack couldn't help but smile. As he listened more he realized; it was a Disney song. He quickly phoned Rian.

-Alex's p.o.v-
While Jack ran to get me a towel I started humming a song.
Huh, haven't done that in a bit have I?
I started mumbling the words to that one song from mulan about defeating huns or something. I stopped when I heard Jack talking from outside the kitchen.
"Rian, he actually singing" Jack said.
Was my singing bad? Did I really sound that horrible he had to pick up the phone and laugh with Rian about it? Oh god, what if Rian tells Zack! I-
"I'm so happy, I haven't heard him sing in forever" Jack said cutting off my thoughts.
"Really? Do you think hes getting better?" He replied to Rian.
"I know, well I shouldn't keep my baby waiting. Bye Rian." He said hanging up.
I quickly continued mixing the batter pretending nothing happend.
"Here you go." Jack said handing me the towel.
I mumbled a thanks before Jack hugged me.
"I- I'm not complaining, but what is this for?" I asked.
"I love you" he replied.
"I love you too."
