The dirt underneath his black boots brought small pieces of mud upwards then they fell graciously back to the ground once again. Blue and red lights glazed the raindrops as they fell to the ground. Somehow making the scenery a pretty one, except it was anything but.

The man could feel his veins run with adrenaline, his pulse striking his heart. Wet hair covered the back of his neck, and his shirt clung to him like latex. His cheeks were slightly flushed from all the running.

He needed a cigarette.

Thunderstruck and a sound erupted to the left of the man. He had nearly forgotten why he was running from the police, as he wasn't the target after all. Hearing a gasp to his left, the man looked at the real target, Alex, who was looking at the night sky.

Alex gazed at the storm above him and wondered if it was storming this bad because of his wrongdoings.

The man heard the tune of the cop's sirens coming closer with every large step they took, a human body could never compare to the speed of a car of course. But they had the advantage as they were in a rocky landscape. Well, if they even used it to their advantage.

Reaching for the back of his waist, the man felt nothing. His face dropped. He had forgotten his gun. He silently cursed, although he wasn't planning on killing police officers, they have nothing to defend themselves with if things go South. Although, aren't they already South enough?
