Farewell

Rebekah wrapped her arms around Elena with Elijah and Hayley following , everyone had grown much closer over Christmas but everyone had stayed longer than expected and it was New Years Eve . Elena hugged Damon and waved at everyone as they left but most of all Elena rushed over to a tearful Matt
"Matt!" Elena smiled "I'm going to miss you so much! Promise me you'll both come and visit again!"
Matt nodded "of course Elena ,why wouldn't i?" He laughed
Damon and Elena watched the two cars drive along the icy road towards the motorway , Damon closed the door and jumped onto the sofa
"So Christmas is over ,everyone's gone thank god ,and now we have the wedding to plan which is in how many days?"
Elena rolled her eyes "it's in 23 days Damon and we're not ready at all ,we might have to put it off anyway ..we need to find Stefan and also.." Elena stopped and felt her stomach
Damon smiled and sped over to Elena holding her stomach "we might have a baby on the way " he laughed .
"We need to announce the news to everyone Damon"she smiled
But Damon was shaking his head "no elena I don't think you should tell anyone ..if we tell people ,word gets round and I don't particularly want Klaus back in town wanting to kill you both "
Elena slowly nodded "I ..guess you're right Damon ,which is why I was thinking after the wedding we should go away for a few months and return when the baby's due"
Damon kissed her cheek and nodded "sure ,maybe we could go to Italy or Paris " .
Elena giggled and hugged Damon before dragging him over to the sofa ,Elena pulled the laptop out and opened her emails
Damon sat down next to elena and turned the to on, elena scanned through her emails
"Got an email from Matt and Rebekah ..they've arrived in Paris ,and they've bought another house.."she laughed
Damon shook his head "no emails from Bonnie? Jeremy?"
"No Damon they're 'travelling the world ' they're busy .."
"But it's ok for them to miss the wedding isn't it? You know elena actually I was thinking why don't we get married in the Summer? A private wedding in ..Hawaii maybe?"
Elena turned and stared at Damon "that's a joke right? We couldn't do that?!" She laughed
"Why not?"
"Because..because Damon.."
"My point exactly elena ,I want a private wedding ..just us ..no one else ...it's always been a dream of mine"he smirked
"Fine Damon but you're arranging this one"
~ elenas eyes opened from her nap and she sat up from damons lap ,he was sleeping so peacefully. Elenas phone began to buzz ,she reached over to the table and answered the call
"Hello?" She whispered
"We need to meet ,meet me at the Cafe Black just by the sign heading into Mystic falls in 1 hour"
The phone went dead and elena woke Damon up "someone just rang me Damon ..I don't know who though "
"What did they want?"
"For me to meet with her..it was a she ,I think it was Regina "
"Well I'm coming with you Elena ,we don't know why she wants to see you"
"No Damon I'll be fine I can go alone-"
"It wasn't a suggestion Elena ,I'm coming -"
~ Hayley got out of the car and ran towards the lake house ,she ran in with Hope following
"I need your help ..I need your help"she shouted before falling to the ground
Damon rushed over to her as Elena picked up Hope and took her to the nearest bedroom
"Oh my god Damon what's happened?!"
"I don't know ,I'll take her to a bed she's unconscious ..try and get hold of Elijah or Rebekah"
Elena nodded and ran towards the house phone ,she dialled Elijahs number but it went straight to answer machine so Rebekah was next on the list .
~ Rebekah sat down next to Matt on their balcony as they watched the lights of the Eiffel Tower glow , the streets were empty and peaceful .matt passed Rebekah a glass of champagne and kissed her on her cheek
"So this is life "he laughed
"I feel bad Matt leaving Mystic falls ..I miss Hope in New Orleans and my family -"
"Why didn't you say Bekah? We could've stayed?"
Rebekah's eyes lit up "really? You'd do that for me?"
Matt stood up and leant on one knee "of course I would Bekah ..which is why I wanted to ask you something -"
Rebekah sat up with excitement and gazed into matts eyes
"Will you marry me?" Matt whispered
Rebekah nodded and wrapped her arms around him ,as she looked back Matt had a box with a beautiful sapphire ring sat inside of it . Rebekah's jaw dropped
"It's .its beautiful Matt "
Matt slid the ring onto her finger and kissed her cheek ,Rebekah sipped her champagne with happiness before her phone rang
"Hello?"
"Rebekah ..Rebekah you need to get back to mystic falls "Elena shouted
"What? Why?"
"Just get here Rebekah ,Hayley's unconscious ,hopes with us and Elijah is missing! Klaus is trying to take Hope and he isn't stopping -"
Rebekah's eyes narrowed in anger "Nicklaus ..keep hope with you we'll be there by tonight-"
"Rebekah you need to hurry because I'm pregnant and ..I don't want to loose this baby-"
The phone went dead and Bekah was packing he bags
"Matt you can't come ,it's family business and I need you to stay here and work and live life as normal as possible -"
"No I'm coming with you Rebekah don't be stupid-"
"No Matt you're staying here ..my brothers loosing it again-"
