she glances out the window at the bright city lights dotting across the night sky. something tugs in her chest, almost painful. but not quite. more bittersweet. she longs for that time when she was unaware of the harsh reality of the world. her eyes focus on that one golden light, a thousand miles away, and everything else almost fades away. almost. but not quite.
