The Doctor rang, and waited with his hands behind his back, grinning.

Amy Rolled her eyes.

After a few seconds, the door opened. A tall man with incredibly sexy cheekbones appeared. He didn't smile. His face was actually completely blank. Amy almost said out loud that she hoped Holmes wasn't actually gay. She winked at the handsome man. The Doctor caught her and frowned, bu he quickly regained his cheerful mood as he exclaimed:

"Hello! I'm the Doctor!"

No reply.

"We were...uhm...wondering if you could hear us out and take up our case uhm...sir.." Amy added.

"At 1am?" Holmes raised his eyebrow.

"Well yes, actually, I'm sorry about that...the TARDIS is always a bit...wobblewobble..with time zones and..."

Amy cut in "It's...pretty serious".

"Come inside" said Sherlock.

They all started to climb a steep staircase. After a few seconds, a door opened and an elderly lady peeked out, rather annoyed.

"Is everything allright, Sherlock, dear?"

"Yes Mrs Hudson. Go back to sleep."

"Oh..." And she closed the door.

When they finally entered the detective's flat, he told them to take a seat. Amy and the Doctor sat side by side on the couch. Holmes sat in an armchair near the lit fireplace. He took a cup of tea in his hands, not offering one to his guests.

The flat was pretty tiny and cluttered with the most bizarre things. There was a skull on the fireplace, for starters. Bullet holes in the wall covered in dark, flowery wallpaper. Lab instruments on the kitchen table. Amy thought it was almost as weird as the inside of the TARDIS. Almost.

"So...you were saying..." Sherlock said with his deep voice.

Amy and the Doctor exchanged a look.

"We came here to ask your help in a very, very serious matter. We heard you are one of the most competent consultive detectives in England, so.."

"I am the only consultive detective in England"

"Yeah, well, alright..." The Doctor lost his train of toughts, as usual.

Amy broke in:

"We came here straight from Nymphadora, which is a planet really far away, on that blue box you've probably seen across the street. It is actually a spaceship, bigger on the inside, blah blah. We need your help with a super criminal who's messing around the Galaxy."

The Doctor was staring horrified at Amy with his mouth open.

"Amy we agreed this was not the way we..I.." He turned to look at the detective, expecting him to be at least confused; possibly passed out.

Sherlock was simply sipping his tea.

Amy was sure he would call the police, or the mental hospital. Or maybe he would simply kick them out. Mr Holmes was pretty rude according to Dr Watson's blog.

Sherlock didn't speak for a while. And still didn't speak. He was just gazing at the fireplace, sipping his tea. Amy was about to suggest to the Doctor to leave, when...

"I accept the case"
