Doug held her right hand tightly as they walked from screen 5. The lights in the hallway affected Melanies eyes as they adjusted from the darkness she had just been sat in for the past few hours. The bones in her right hand were being squeezed together by Dougs strong grip, her fingers starting to tingle and then become painfully numb.

"Doug, please, your hurting my hand." Melanie's voice was quiet and soft but loud enough for her boyfriend to hear. His vice like grip loosened and his hand left hers completely. Her hand fell down against her leg limply. His arm was now stretching around her shoulders to allow his hand to rest on her arm.

Doug's muscles tensed as he pulled her closer to him. His smile was dazzling as his white teeth sparkled down at her. With his free hand he ruffled his dark hair. He was a very handsome guy. For a split second there was a menacing glint in his turquiose eyes as Melanie shifted her shoulders.

Doug didn't like the idea of Melanie being away from his touch, she might leave him for good. He couldn't let that happen.

Melanie tried to break away from his grip, but she never did. Everytime she tried he only pulled her in closer to him, his arm and hand tightening around her.  He never let her go when they were out in public.

"How about we go to Maccy D's hun?" His voice chirped out of nowhere as they walked from the cinema and into the outside world where wind was blowing and dark grey clouds were rolling in, blocking out the sunlight. Their feet were in sync as they stepped outside into the harsh wind.

Melanie's short brown hair which had a red tint was blown and tousled over her eyes. The waves of her free hair were being pushed around like the loose Room 94 band T-shirt she was wearing over her green skinny jeans. Her body had a petite frame, she was basically anorexic, underneath her clothes her skeletal system could be seen easily. She wears loose shirts and tops to make the predominance of them seem less noticeable. It hardly worked because her arms were thin and her cheeks were becoming more hollow each day.

Doug's dark hair was still slightly tousled but it looked good. His thick fleece jacket was keeping him warm, it was zipped up halfway, showing off some of his white vest. A pair of dark levis were held around his waist and legs by a belt that was hidden underneath his jacket. Unlike Melanie he wasn't thin, instead he had a triangle shaped torso which showed his body type was a mesomorph, this means his is quite athletic. He used to play football and run track, but he gave that up when he started to spend more time with Melanie.

Doug was pushing Melanie with his arm that was around her shoulder towards the doors of the fast food restaraunt.

"Can I help anyone?" The person at the till called out towards the queue of people in which Doug and Melanie were standing in. They were at the front and walked to the girl who had called out.

"Yeah, can I have a Big Mac, large chips and a large coke? Melanie what do you want?" He looked down towards her but she was staring at the floor held in a daydream. His arm was still held around her shoulders, he squeezed her tightly to make her look up to him.

"Melanie?" His voice had a hint of anger that only melanie could notice as it was aimed at her.

"Can I have a cheeseburger, chips and a coke please?" Her voice was slightly shakey.

"Ok, so that is one Big Mac with large fries, large coke, and a cheeseburger with regular fries and a regular coke." She re-read the order back to them as it was protocal for her.

Doug nodded at what she said and the girl at the till walked off to get their food after Doug had handed her the correct amount of money needed to pay for their dinner. The zip on his jacket was pulled down to reveal his vest, printed on it was Avenged Sevenfold and the bands logo of a skull with wings.

When the girl had finished placing the food and drinks on the tray she handed it to Doug, she winked at him although he took no notice, his eyes were solely on Melanie. He reluctently unwrapped his arm from around her and let go of her for the first time all day. He carried the tray and made sure that Melanie was right by him the whole time as they walked to an empty table.

When they sat down Doug's mood suddenly shifted. The menacing look that had flickered in his eyes earlier was now back although it lasted for longer this time. His eyes pierced into Melanie's making her feel scared  and sick with fear, he wouldn't do anything bad while they were in public though. He wouldn't dare risk it.

He kept his voice low. No one around could hear them, especially with all the little kids screaming at each other and at their parents too.

"How could you do this to me? " His words were hissed.

"What do you mean?" Her voice was filled with innocence as she placed a chip in her mouth.

"Well you're obviously stupid as well as fat. I mean you completely blanked me when we were ordering, and I can't believe what you ordered. You're such a pig." He was practically climbing over the table towards her. His torso was hanging over the edge of his side of the table, knocking over his chips.

"This is probably the only thing I will eat all day though, and I didn't hear you, I'm sorry."

"Yeah, you'll be sorry later you little bitch. Even if it is the only thing you will eat it still has so many calories and you could have at least got a diet coke. After all you should be watching what you eat because of all the weight you have been putting on lately." He sat down on his chair fully, his eyes still glazed over with pure anger.

Melanie was becoming anorexic because of her boyfriend who only made her feel depressed and took away all of her confidence with the lack of compliments and use of insults. She didn't bother to answer back now, the consequences were too extreme.

Although if she had answered back she would have said something like 'it was your idea to come here in the first place and if you didn't like what I ordered then order for me next time' instead she decided to play it cool and began to fiddle around with her food.

Melanie unwrapped her burger and lifted off the top side of the bun. The cheese had melted and stuck to both the bun and the burger, as always she placed fried and salted chips on top of the melted cheese and the perfectly cooked burger. The bun was placed back on top and she lifted it up to her mouth. A small bite was taken and the flavours sent sparks inside her mouth. She hadn't eaten anything like this is months. She had only really been eating fruit and vegetables because of her new diet that Doug had ordered her to follow.

"Melanie. I love you." A smile was formed with his lips and his eyes had softened once again,  he was pretending the incident had never happened.

"I love you too." The voice that left her lips was weak and fragile. Sometimes she wondered if her feelings were true or if she forced herself to feel love for him.
