Monday mornings always hit Minhyuk like a truck, but today was different. He actually woke up before Kihyun did and was in the bathroom shaving and doing his skin care routine while going over his lines in his head. He watched his face in the mirror as he lipped the words, doing his best not to stir Kihyun who was clearly beat from doing whatever it was he did all day.

Minhyuk finished and he was feeling confident. Today was the day. Today he was about to become Viktor and he couldn't be more excited. He wasn't as nervous as he expected and as he went in to the drama building he had a pep in his step and a smile on his face. The walk over to the drama building was quiet and there was a nice breeze, but all he could hear in his mind were his lines. All he had to do was deliver them better than his opponent, Hyungwon.

Minhyuk was worried about losing unfairly to Hyungwon. The truth was that Hyungwon was more popular than him with the other drama students and actually more liked. He was quiet and handsome and helpful in most ways, but Minhyuk was much louder, less organized and in the eyes of the cast, probably less helpful. His passion for every play was evident, but the way he showed it always seemed to annoy people more than it did to inspire them. It could've all been in his head, but he always felt like Hyungwon was more likeable than him and although it never got to him, today it was in the back of his mind, inching its way to the forefront. He shook his head to shoo the thought away. He was born for the role of Viktor and he'd get the part today.

"OKAY EVERYONE PLACES. WE HAVE ONE MORE MAJOR AUDITION AND TODAY I'LL MAKE THE FINAL DECISION. MOVE OFF THE STAGE" Yelled the director, Joseph. He clapped his hands and rushed everyone off the stage as he took his seat in the chair labeled 'Director'. He was filled with pride knowing that he had not only written the play, but was directing it. His Co-director sat down next to him in a chair labeled as such, and handed him a coffee and a script.

"I WANT VIKTOR'S WIFE ON STAGE TO FEED THE LINES. LET'S PLAY THIS LIKE DRESS REHEARSAL. ARE HYUNGWON AND MINHYUK HERE?"

"Here." Minhyuk said walking in behind Joseph.

"Get back stage, I need to make a decision today, otherwise this play will never see the light of day."

"TANYA! VIKTOR'S WIFE! HELLO? GET ON STAGE!" he sipped his coffee, "God, these kids never listen."

Minhyuk walked back stage, rubbing his ears as Joseph had just yelled directly in them. He saw Hyungwon, who had a script in his hand and was going over it one last time, muttering the words to himself, his pink lips moving slowly as if he was working out how to make every word come out just so. Minhyuk snuck up behind him and patted his back. He jumped and then glared at Minhyuk.

"Good luck, man."

"You scared me. Jesus." Hyungwon said holding a hand to his chest.

"You're on edge I see." Minhyuk teased, looking at Hyungwon's somewhat shaky hands

"Yeah. Last year I was literally, 'background guy two' and this year I have a chance to be the star of the show. Aren't you nervous?"

"Not really." He said, walking past Hyungwon and to the side of the stage, "I think I got this." he moved the curtain and looked at the stage. It was all set up and Tanya was standing on the stage arguing with Joseph about something irrelevant.

"VIKTOR ONE! COME OUT! YOUR WIFE IS DONE FUSSING WITH ME!" Joseph yelled and Minhyuk took one deep breath and shoved the curtain aside before he strutted on stage with the most confidence he could muster.

"WE'RE DOING ACT TWO SCENE SEVEN. I HOPE YOU STUDIED THE LINES." he shouted and Minhyuk nodded, suddenly sweating as he saw the rest of the cast gather around to watch the tryouts. He shuffled to the stage. The lights were on and they were beaming on him. He hoped to God he didn't mess this up.
