<<<Jerome's POV>>>

I arrive at the airport and Aunt Betty(Kahlanne's aunt) comes to take me home. I honestly don't know how to feel right now. I never thought this would happen this soon and to someone I didn't know. The thing is that I didn't want to disappoint my parents plus I was not dating anyone so I just went ahead with their marriage plan. Hopefully this Kahlanne girl thinks the same as I do. I don't even know what she looks like but from what her mom says she seems like a nice girl.

I was so engrossed in my thoughts that I didn't hear what Aunt Betty said.

"Pardon me?" I asked her.

"Oh I was asking about your parents and my sister. How are they doing?" she said with a smile.

"Err they're fine" I replied nonchalantly and went back to continue with my thoughts. At least we're not going to get married until we've both finished our college education and that is like four or five years from now.

I realised that we had pulled into the driveway of a magnificent house. I got out of the car and waited for Aunt Betty to come and unlock the front door. She unlocked the door and I entered carrying my bags. She tried to help me but I refused. The inside of the house was simple yet elegant. It felt very homely and comfortable unlike the house I lived in with my parents.

Aunt Betty showed me to my room and told me to get ready for dinner. I unpacked my stuff, took a quick shower and changed into a white polo shirt and jeans shorts. I lay on my bed browsing through my tweets on my iPhone when Aunt Betty called for me to come down to dinner. As if on cue my tummy gave a low growl signalling that it needed to be filled. I jogged downstairs and saw that Aunt Betty was already seated. I greeted her with a small smile and sat down to eat. Then I realised that I hadn't seen or heard Kahlanne since I arrived.

"Umm, Aunt Betty, where is Kahlanne? I haven't seen her since I arrived."  

"She's gone out but I've called her and she's on her way. Can't wait to see your future wife, eh," she replied wiggling her eyebrows at me. I couldn't help but smile at this. Aunt Betty seemed like a nice person and I'm sure we're going to get along just fine.

We started eating dinner in silence when the door opened and a girl walked in with an annoyed look on her face. She must be Kahlanne. I mean who else could she be? Only two people lived in this house, she and Aunt Betty. She had wavy brown hair, adorable brown eyes, a cute nose and kissable, I mean full pink lips. Her body was not too slim, it was just perfect. She was a very pretty or should I say a very beautiful girl.

"Why are you staring at me?' I heard her say. 

"Huh?"  I asked confused. 

"Why are you looking at me like you want to eat me. Don't you have enough food on the table?" she smirked at me. I felt the heat rise up to my cheeks.

"Kahlanne, manners" Aunt Betty said in a quiet but firm tone. Kahlanne rolled her eyes, looked at me and said in a bored tone.

"Hi, I'm Kahlanne. You must be Jerome. Nice to meet you."  She stuck out her hand for to shake. 

"Nice to meet you too" I replied and shook her hand. They were really soft. I let go of her hand and she sat sat next to me to have dinner.

After dinner she went upstairs to her room without a word. So this is the girl I'm supposed to marry. Physically she was beautiful but attitude-wise... I don't know. I guess it's not going to be easy to get to know her like I thought so I'll have to make very good use of my six months here. Maybe I should go talk to her now.

I got to her door and knocked. No answer. I open the door myself and enter only to see her talking on the phone with someone so she hasn't noticed that I'm in the room. From the look on her face it seemed that she was really happy whoever it is she was talking to and I must admit that she looked more pretty when she was happy was smiling. Then all of a sudden she says, "Come on Drew, why don't you be a nice and loving boyfriend and get me a new book from the bookstore when you come and visit tomorrow. Pleeeaaase."

I leave the room in silence and shock. What! She has a boyfriend! Doesn't she know that she's going to get married to me. She just can't go about and have a boyfriend. Why should I even care if she has a boyfriend. It's not like we're dating or anything. We're getting married because our parents made an agreement. I don't even like her .... or maybe I do. I'll just have to wait for tomorrow and meet this Drew boyfriend of hers.

<<<Kahlanne's POV>>>

I finished talking to Drew on the phone and my mind drifted to Jerome. He's not bad looking at all. He looks so handsome with his brown hair, mesmerizing blue eyes and crooked smile but Drew was way hotter (Not like I was going to admit it if he was hotter than my boyfriend). At least my mother did not choose an ugly boy for me to marry; that is if I was going to marry him.
