Lost Thoughts

A thought in my head, now off it goes,

Which way it went, it never shows,

Blue, yellow, purple or green,

None of which of what it had been.

Now it is lost, the thought is gone,

Never to be seen, never to be found,

Where it is hiding, I do not know,

In my head, there is not a sound

Will it be discovered, it wants to be said,

A tickle of thought, I feel in my head,

On the tip of my tongue, I know it’s there,

So close, the thought is almost here

But, no it’s not, it’s gone again,

Lost and hidden among my thoughts,

It likes to tease and taunt me much,

But I will no longer put up with its cavorts,

I’ve lost my thought; it’s no longer in my mind,

It’s hidden now, leaving the others behind,

This lost thought is sending me insane,

As it is still hiding inside my brain,

It tickles my tongue and ruffles my thoughts,

It is hiding where no one else can see,

I wish I could find it once again,

But, maybe it will be best if I left it be.
