Chapter 2. Escape

I couldn't think straight right now, but all I knew was that I wasn't alone. I grabbed the man, handed him a wrench, and ran out the back exit. "You comin'?" I asked.

"I got nothing better to do," he said almost delightfully.

"Lucky for you, I'm here with a backup plan. So friend *Hugh* what brought ya' here?" I panted.

"Well, *Hugh* I already told you, I made a mistake, *Hugh* and now our region is at stake. I just need to get to my lab, it's *gagh!" about two blocks down," he exclaimed breathlessly. I still didn't know if I could trust him, but he was the only person - well, "here". I ran to the escape ladder while 'He' stayed guard. I called him over, reluctantly, and walked down to the ladder hoping to get away from those things. As soon as we were on the ground we were all suddenly surrounded. I nor Harry knew what to do. We were doomed.
