When I walked into the house, Liam shoved his way through and ran upstairs, ignoring his dads attempt to stop him. I don't really understand what his problem is with me, I mean, we only just met.. Is it because he caught me with his dog? I was only trying to help the poor thing, they probably would have never found him if it wasn't for me. I sighed and walked through the door to be greeted by a beautiful women and an older girl who looked like she was about twenty.
"Um... Geoff?" the older one said, I'm assuming it was his wife.
"Oh! Karen, this is Niall. Niall, this is my wife, Karen, and my daughter, Ruth." he said to her, she still had a confused look on her face, but shook my hand anyway.
After me and Geoff got done explaining to them about how I ran away, Karen decided to let me stay. I told them what my parents had done to me, and how they hit me, and they said they would never let me go back to that place.
I loved how they were so caring, but I wonder what they would think if I told them why they had hit me.
"So.. Niall, what was the purpose everyone would beat you? If I may ask.." Karen questioned. And there it was, the thing I had been dreading to hear this whole time.
I guess I have to tell them, but I'm just scared of what they might think. Well, here goes nothing.
"Well.. they are just homophobic asses" I said, hoping they would catch on.
They looked at me confused, then there face turned to and understanding look.
"Wait, so just to clear things up, you're gay?" Ruth said, I nodded. I couldn't look at them, what if they thought I was gross?
I was surprised when I was pulled into a tight embrace. I looked up to see all three of them around me, hugging me.
"Wh- What? So you don't ha- hate me?" I stuttered out.
"Of course not!" Ruth screeched "why would we hate you because of your sexuality? I mean, you're human just like everyone else! You have the right to love whatever gender you want! I just wanna punch those dickheads in the face if I ever see any of them! If anyone is ever bothering you, please tell us"
I can't believe how supportive they're being, this must be a dream.
I took a chunk of my arm and squeezed it "OW!" I screamed. They all looked at me like I was crazy.
"Oh, sorry. Just making sure I wasn't in a dream.." I stated awkwardly. They let out a few laughs, and Karen stood up.
"Well, hun. Are you hungry?" She said smiling at me. I smiled back at her and nodded.
"Well, what do you guys want for dinner?" She said, looking around the room. "Where's Liam?" she asked.
"Oh, he stormed upstairs as soon as we got home. I don't think he's very happy about Niall living with us, but he'll get over it." Geoff said and walked over by the stairs "LIAM!" he yelled.
I heard a loud groan and a door open "What?!" Liam shouted back. A few seconds later, he was already at the bottom of the steps.
"We were thinking about going out and eating, would you care to join us?" Karen said, smiling hopefully.
Liam sighed "I guess, where are we going?"
"We don't know yet, where would you like to go?"
"NANDOS!" I screamed, I could't help myself, that was my favorite place ever to eat.
"I guess we're heading to nandos, then." Ruth said with a smile. "Maybe tomorrow we can go shopping for Niall. I'm guessing he only has a few outfits, considering he only has one bag" she said, gesturing towards my bag. I felt bad that they had to pay for me, I mean, they looked pretty wealthy, but it just didn't feel right that they had to pay for me.
"That reminds me, which room will Niall be staying in?" Geoff questioned.
"Oh.. well we have three guest rooms, and Nicola's old room. But I doubt he would want to stay in there. So he will have to stay in one of the guest rooms. Maybe we'll put him in the one by Liam's room." Karen stated.
"Yeah, that's a good idea. Liam, help him to his room please?" Geoff said. Liam groaned and gestured towards the stairs. I started to walk towards them while he walked closely behind.
When we reached the top, he stopped at the third door to the left. "Do you see this room?" he said bitterly. I nodded. "well stay the fuck out of it, got it?!" I nodded again and looked down.
"okay.." he said while walking to the next door "this is where you're going to be staying" I opened the door and walked inside, him walking in before me.
I sat my bag down on the bed and started pulling my things out of it. I could feel his eyes on me the whole time, I sighed and turned to him "do you mind?!" I snapped.
"Oh, yeah.. sorry" he apologized and looked away "so... why did you run away?" he said trying to change the subject. I sighed.
"well, my family, schoolmates, and mostly everyone would beat me. But of course you probably would care.
He rolled his eyes, ignoring the last part. "why?" he said.
I sighed again "because I'm gay" I said, turning back to my things.
"Oh..." he said awkwardly.
"Yeah, you probably think I'm disgusting-"
"What?! I don't think you're disgusting! My best friend is gay.." he cut me off.
"Oh..." I shifted awkwardly then walked towards the drawer and put my few pieces of clothing in it.
After I was done getting settled, I walked towards the door. Liam was still standing there awkwardly, staring at me. I sighed "well, lets go back downstairs.. I'm hungry!" I said.
He nodded and followed me down the stairs, but of course Karen made me go back up and get cleaned up before we head out.

When we finally made it to Nandos, I kind of went a little crazy with my order. I ordered pretty much everything on the menu. I finished at about the same time as everyone else, seeing as I'm a fast eater and all.
They were a bit surprised at how much I could eat, but what can I say? I love food!
When we got back home, we decided it was about time to head to bed. It was kind of hard to fall asleep at first, but after about an hour, I finally drifted off.
