Christmas First Date

Your hand slides into mine

Our fingers perfectly intertwined

Your coffee eyes reflect the light

Twinkling on the tree to our right

Snow dusts our shoulders and heads

While walking down the path far ahead

We hear bells tinkle on the toes of elves

Neatly stacked on store window shelves

We make our way up the cobblestone streets

Boots and thick socks keep warm our feet

Yet the chills still slither and seep

and still these memories I wish to keep

Peppermint chocolate smells wafts through the air

It is the scent of a Winter Wonderland fair

The christmas pine looms over us

As we see its decorators run and fuss

Though it is snowy and cold

Tonight my soul is young and old

And though it is only my first date

I know Christmas has brought me fate
