Freedom

The stork flew by.

When I was about to cry.

It comforted me.

The stork was my friend.

My only friend.

Its wings glow a snowy white.

Beak shines orange, like the pumpkins on Halloween night.

Eyes alert and steady.

Waiting for me to get ready.

I hang on to my stork friend.

We fly off together through the clouds.

Enjoying the ride of my life.

The stork flies over the sky.

It gains altitude and reaches to the heavens.

My stork is the greatest flier.

It takes me away from this orphanage.

It takes me to a new age.

A world for me and my stork.

The stork used to live in my cage.

Until I lived in one myself.

I let it go and now everyday it flies by my window.

I watch its silhouette on the moon.

I imagine that I will fly with it soon.

Maybe one day I can be free from this awful gloom.

And so I can fly with it.

I hope that my wings will be free to bloom too.
