Sawyer and I are walking through the jungle. He hasn't told me where we are going but by the looks of it, we are going to the barracks. Sawyer hasn't spoken a word to me since the temple.

We make it to the barracks and we go inside the house that we used to live in.

I'm helping Sawyer look for something in his old room. He lifts up the floorboard and pulls out a box. He sits on the bed and I sit next to him. He pulls an engagement ring out of the box.

Before I have time to say anything, we hear someone in the house.

Sawyer and I both stand up and he points his guns asking who's there.

We walk out of the room and there was Kate standing in the hallway.

"What the hell are you doin' here?" Sawyer asks.

"I was worried about you," Kate says.

Sawyer walks past Kate and I follow him.

Sawyer and I are sitting on the dock when Kate comes over. I leave to give them time to talk.

*

Sawyer comes back to the house and I'm in my old room looking at all of my Beatles records that left behind.

Sawyer walks in and grabs a bottle of whiskey from the fridge.

After a couple hours Sawyer is already on his third bottle of whiskey.

I'm sitting on the chair in the living room and he's sitting on the couch.

"So what are you gonna do James, drink your life away?" I say. He doesn't say anything, "Do you really think that's what she would have wanted for?"

"Do don't know what she would've wanted," he says.

"Yeah, I do know because I lived with her for three years...you're acting like you're the only one who lost someone."

"Well, I lost the woman I loved!"

"And I lost someone who took care of me and practically raised me for three years!"

"We all know what you do to people who raised you, you..." He stops once he realized what he's said.

I feel my eyes fill with tears but I won't let the tears fall, "I do what James?" No response. "Come on James, I want you to say it...you know what you can drink your life away I don't care anymore but I'm not going to sit here and watch that happen."

I get up to walk out the door.

"No Hayley please don't go, don't leave me, I didn't mean it."

I open the door and I walk out. But I have nowhere to go and I can't just leave him, I love him he's been taking care of me since we crashed.

I sit on the bench outside the house and I finally let the tears fall.

*

I'm sitting on the bench crying still when I hear someone walking up, I left my gun inside the house.

I look up and it's John Locke.

"Hello Hayley, where's Sawyer?" He asked.

"Last I checked you were supposed to be dead."

"I am," he says.

"You're not John Locke."

"And what makes you say that?"

"John was always scared, he always had fear in his eyes, but you, your not scared at all...James is inside."

I walk inside and not John follows behind me.

Not John goes to the room to get Sawyer. They both walk out of the room.

When Sawyer sees me he says, " Your still here, I thought you left me." He hugs me and he has the strong smell of achool on him.

Sawyer pours himself and not John a drink.

Sawyer is a drunken wreck and I hate seeing him like this.

He says a few things to Sawyer and I finally say, "Who the hell are you, we both know ain't John Locke."

"What if I told you I was the person who could answer the most important question in the world?"

Sawyer starts to laugh, "And what question is that?"

"Why are you on this island?"

As soon as he says this my necklace flashes a little brighter than usual.

"We are on this island because our plans crashed, cause our raft blew up because the helicopter I was on was ridin' one too heavy," Sawyer says.

"That's not why you're here. And if you two come with me...I can prove it."

"Why the hell not, we've got nothing left to lose," I say as Sawyer and I stand up ready to follow not John Locke.
