As I get off the plane with my sister Natalie, who is super excited to be in Italy

“We are going to have so much fun! We’re going to go sightseeing. Go to the beach to tan. Go clubbing every night, we’re going to be hitting on guys. Maybe even have some long nights...” She trails off, looking at a random guy

I, on the other hand do not. Under any circumstances, want to meet a guy, party, or have ‘long nights’. I just want to relax and take my mind of things. I am in no way like my sister

I look over my shoulder and I see that she is flirting with some guy. Figures, we weren’t even off of the plane for 2 minutes and she already has a ‘buddy’

I laugh a little and head to the rental car, giving her a push as she tries to bring him with. I look at the clock. It’s only 4 in the afternoon. Calm down!

I pull Natalie away as she gives the ‘call me’ sign to the guy. I gag

“Why do you have to be so-”

“Shut up Shar! You will be just like me when you're 20” She rudely

I’m 17, in 3 years I will be making a life out of myself. Being in college, living a happy life. Not hooking up with a random guy every night

“I am too smart for that” I say sarcastically at her

The hotel is nice. A lot nicer than most of the hotels Natalie and I have stayed at

I sit there awkwardly with Natalie until midnight

“Okay. I’m going out. You want to come? Or you can just lay here” Natalie says, already heading for the door

“I’ll stay here. I’ll probably just rent a movie” I mumble

“Okay. Well, either find someone to stay with for the night or close your ears because I am most definitely bringing someone home” She says and slams the door shut

Alrighty then. What to do. I look through the TV, nothing. I decide to go out and get something to eat. Maybe find someone to help me get through the night

I decide to walk up to the check in desk and ask for another room

“Hello. How may I help?” The lady asks me

“Yeah. I need to rent another room” I say

“Alright... I’m sorry. There are no rooms available. With the summer crowd, it’s packed” She tells me

I sigh “That’s okay. Thanks”

I stomp off to the elevator. I get in and let out a really loud scream

I hear laughing “Excuse me, don’t laugh at me. I’m having a really bad day”

“Sorry. Why are you having a bad day?” The boy asks me

“Like you really care. I bet that you are asking me so you can sleep with me”

“I do. i promise no one else will know” He looks at me, causing me to smile

“Well, I came here with my sister, who is wanting to party. She is driving me crazy. I really wish I could go home. But I can’t”

“Don’t leave! You can stay with me and my friends” He suggests

“Okay. Thanks. I’m Sharlene”

“Harry” He smiles at me

We walk to my room. He keeps walking

“We’re neighbors!” He yells. I laugh

“You coming?” He asks me

“Yeah” I smile and walk down the hall

I decided I don’t need my sister to have fun
