The Bond

The bond began when she gave me life,

Then she held my hand through my childhood strife.

When the rainbows hid and the storm clouds came,

She would shield my face from the pelting rain.

When my strength was weak, she would take my side,

Such a natural stance, where she stood with pride.

She would perk me up, on my darkest days,

Turning fearful fog, into summer haze.

Now she sleeps in heaven,

But the bond's still strong,

Like a thread of gold,

Weaving on and on.
