“0800 hours, one-four-seven days since they've stopped broadcasting the BBC. They were the last channel to go, bless them. It's getting really fucking boring though. I've been watching static for the past four hours, listen to this —”

The gentle hum in the background is more prominent now, no longer muffled by the voice.

“See? It's hardly the most stimulating program. Though I guess I can't blame the BBC for finally throwing in the towel. There was only ten of them or something left anyway. They probably all got evacuated and are living it up in that Sanctuary in Orkney. I forget what it's actually called, sorry. Dad's getting seriously pissed that we've not been evacuated yet. The phones were all disconnected three hundred and twelve days ago though, so there's nothing we can do but sit tight and wait. Try not to get Infected. Y'know. That sort of thing...”
