Murder in the Dark Part 2

A small scream escaped my frozen lips. It vibrated against the crumbling walls. Fear rose up my spine, tickling it as if miniscule explosions where occuring on skin. My brother, dead.

No.

A trickle of blood travelled from his body to the wardrobe. My legs ventured closer, closer. I shivered as a cool air groped at my clothing. The fading light blew out, leaving a waft of smoke curling higher into the air. I could hardly see as darkness pushed in on me, suffocating me, blocking out all light as if the sun had been sucked into a black hole.

I smothered my fear, swiping my sweaty palms on my coat. I could faintly see where the blood stopped from the glow given my distant buildings. The space in which the trail of blood stopped was clear of any imperfections. Hmm?

Something cluttered to the floorboards behind me. I stiffened, my body becomeing rigid and hot with fright. My eyes grew wide as my pupils dilated. I gulped a breath of stale air, trying to be as quiet as possible. Someone was behind me. My lower lip quivered, my forehead growing clammy and my legs shaking from standing so stiffly. I barely blinked, overcome with fear.

Surely something would have happened by now. A few seconds past but they felt like an eternity. Something cold brushed my neck. My eyes became wider than golfballs, aching as my eyelids were stretched to their limit. My vision blurred. Get out of here, my brain growled but I didn't listen. I couldn't.

Another small thud echoed outside the room. I couldn't prevent it. A shriek escaped my lips.

And it was the last thing that ever would, as footsteps grew louder and faster. Something lodged into my chest, causing a searing and unbearable pain.

I fell in a heap on top of my brother.

The room became light, shinning brightly, a star.

The light engulfed me until I was blind.

Until I was blind and saw no more.
