Journal entry 1:
Another family to tell me to grow up, or act my age. You know what? I know how I'm supposed to act, and that's like me. It's like everyone expects me to act like them and put my needs and personality behind me. Why can't people just accept me for me and get over it? I cant't make everyone happy, and I don't really care if they are happy or not. Before I was taken away from my mom, she told me 'that no matter what happens take care of yourself before anyone,' and I'm going to follow that until I die.
Being alone sucks, but you just have to make due with what you have. I've done this my whole life, so I don't really know anything different.
I have a confession to make. I, Brittany Holmes, have never had a boyfriend. Actually I have never had an actual friend either.
I put the pencil down and thought about how long I would stay in this place. This has been my 7th home in the past month. I guess no one likes me even as a daughter.
