~*~*~*~*~*~*~~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

I woke earlier than I usually would, due to someone yelling. What's going on? I stumble down the stairs, to see Dahvie on the phone, obviously worked up.

"Stop calling this number creep! I don't care!"

Feeling breathing on my neck, I pivoted to find Jayy right behind me listening. He sent me a crooked grin before returning to his listening-ness. When I guess he realized what was going on, he sauntered into the living room. "Him again?" Dahvie nodded and yelled something else into the phone. Dahvie finally spotted me and gestured to come in, mouthing ' almost done' and with that, slammed the phone back onto the reciever.

"Who was that?"

I ask, and though I didn't mean to, a note of suspicion was in my tone. Dahvie glances at Jayy, and looks back at me.

"It's really nothing, just a bit of a, ah, nuisance. It's some 'fan'. When we got the first call, we thought it was just some sort of fan prank, so we just changed our number and ignored. We got another call, and  just changed our number again. They just say things that aren't very nice. No biggie."

He smacks a big grin on his face and I ease up. No biggie. I'm going to have to use that some time.

~~~~~~~~~~Jays POV~~~~~~~~~~~
He didn't mention the threats. Or the dead cat on our front porch just before she got here. The note attached. Ugh. Dahvie sugarcoats too often. Maybe it's for the best. I guess we'll find out. My thoughts were interupted by Candice.
"Where's Sally?"
Chuckling, I replied, "Eating too much and staying twiglike. The usual."
Candice laughed and walked past him into the kitchen. She wore those stupid gloves to bed? She must not take them off too often- then again, who wants to show off their scars?
~~~~~~~~Candice's POV~~~~~~~~~

Sally was indeed in the kitchen, with a plate piled high with strawberrie, and another full of scrambled eggs.

"Strawberries and scrambled eggs? That can't be good together.."

"Nonsense!"

She said with a huge, happy smile. She grabbed another fork and thrust it in my direction. Shaking my head, I took a seat and the fork in her outstreched hand. I caustiously stabbed a strawberry, and quickly retreated my hand, in case she changed her mind, and stabbed my finger. Dahvie and Jayy walked in simaltaneously(sp?). Dahvie gaped at Sally's plate, while Jayy just grabbed a carton of orange juice.

"How many eggs is that?!"

Dahvie yelled in his over reacting nature I've come to know in my short time here.

" One and half a dozen. Why?"

There went Dahvie's jaw. While he stood there making excessive hand motions and blubbering, Jayy walked over with yet another fork, and scooting me over so dahvie could have a seat. I stare at him incredulously. He gives me a bitch please look, "Candice, I did it for you, you could return the favor." And with that, he loaded a glob of eggs on his fork and shoved them in his mouth. Scoffing, I rolled my eyes. Suddenly Dahvie started making a fuss.

"What now?"

Sally asked very obnoxiously. Then pointing a finger at me, he talked through his mouth of eggs.

"She needs a name!!"

"I have a name."

They went on as if I hadn't said  anything.

"Yeah, Candice is a mouthful... What should it be?"

Dahvie was first to burst out an answer."KANDI!!"

"NO!" Me and Jayy cried at the same time. We glanced at each other in agreement and crossed our arms at the same time. Dahvie pouted in his chair and mumbled to himself.

"Tips?"

Sally suggested.

"Dice."

Everyone looked at Jayy. He just stared ahead of him, and repeated the name.

"That's it. Thats the one."

We were all dumbfounded, until Sally broke the silence. "Aha! There is some creativity in there!!" She ruffled his hair playfully, and then it was if the silence never happened. Except for me. Dice. The name rung through my brain. I felt my eyes fill, and ran out of the room, very quickly, while everyone gaped at me.

Running up the stairs I fell onto the bed. Tears streaming down my face, I thought of the words.

Dice, no ones going to care if I'm not here. If I suddenly disappeared, no one would notice it at all.

I bit on my tongue hard. That wasn't true. I cared Hayden. Jayy walked in, and shut the door silently. He sat next to me, but I scooted away. He pulled me into his bare chest, and despite all of my walls, I cried, right into his chest. He just scratched my back, and waited for me to finish. When I did, he asked what happened. I shook my head no, but then the picture flopped onto my field of vision. Me, standing in the rain, watching everyone leave, including my parents. It rained non stop for the entire night I stayed. Dying flowers in my hand, I lay them at the beautiful carving, next to a picture of a smiling blue eyed boy. I hiccupped at the memory.

"He called me Dice. I was his Lucky Dice. But not lucky enough. Thats what he said before he pulled the trigger. 'Dice, no ones going to care if I'm not here. If I suddenly disappeared, no one would notice at all.Your my Lcky Dice, but not lucky enough.' Then, he fell. Sure, I'm lucky. Not enough to stop a bullet huh?"

Tears were streaming again, But Jayy kept his promise and stayed with me all day. And the rest of the nght. Then stayed until I fell asleep, Sally at my side.
