When you cut too deep, and don't stop bleeding, and that sheer moment or terror sets in, and you think 'this is it, I'm going to die,'
It's not fucking beautiful
When you're sweating profusely because you have to wear a long sleeve shirt in ninety degree weather, cause your arms are all torn up,
It's not fucking beautiful
When you become a master liar, and can make up excuses for any mark on your body without hesitation,
It's not fucking beautiful
When there isn't a clear spot left on your skin, and everyone can see your scars and knows your secret,
It's not fucking beautiful
When you become so hurt, or so numb, that cutting isn't enough anymore, and you swallow a bottle of pills,
It's not fucking beautiful
When your vision gets too blurry and you can't stand up, and you retch and retch, your body trying to save itself,
It's not fucking beautiful
When you're crying so hard your body shakes and you absentmindedly scratch open your wounds,
It's not fucking beautiful
When you give up 75 days clean cause he doesn't love you back,
It's not fucking beautiful
Hurting yourself is not fucking beautiful
But you know what is?
Saving yourself.
Recovery is beautiful
Staying clean is beautiful
Picking yourself up off the floor is beautiful
Embracing your left over scars is beautiful
Living your life how you want is beautiful
Loving and being loved is beautiful
Your life, is beautiful"
