His fingers reach into my hair, and he strokes it, allowing the strands to coil around them. I awake from this action, feeling drowsy yet awake - a drunken type of awake.

"Wake up, Caryn," he whispers eagerly with a glint in his eyes. He grins widely and moves away, giving me space to get back up.

"I'm awake, what do you want?" I snap playfully. He rolls his eyes in reply, then gestures towards the mass of his instruments that are placed in the corner of our room.

"We're going outside," he declares. I sit up, ignoring the mass of messy hair that tumbles over my shoulder. I don't feel as self conscious as I normally would feel. My thoughts seem to be blurred.

"Outside?" I echo in question.

"Outside," he justifies.

The street lights of the city are shining bright and we decide to roam in the moonlight. Ethan isn't afraid of the dark atmosphere, he isn't afraid of getting robbed. Maybe that was his way. He had nothing to lose. But things have changed...
