Chapter 8

I was laying in bed thinking about my life because I couldn't get any sleep. My mom and dad were fighting again.

Lately my parents have been arguing and I was starting to get worried. I mean its been a week since it started.

One week.

I don't know whats up but I certainly don't like it. Me and my brothers haven't been getting any sleep because of them. And Im starting to get worried. What if their constant fighting leads into a divorce?

I would be devastated. I wouldn't know what to do with myself if our family broke up. I would be furious because I remember one time my mother told me not to give up on someone you loved, so I would be mad if she didn't use her on advise.

Sometimes, I would even sneak up to their room and hear what they would be fighting about. I mostly hear my mom complaining about him going to work all the time and not spending time with us.

I mean, I did get bummed out when my dad would stay out late because of work, but it was for a good cause, to give us food and a roof over our head, so I never really complained.

I just really hoped my parents would fix out their problems and we could be a strong family again.

A vibration from my phone cut me out of my thoughts and I sat up right on my bed so I could see my text.

Surprisingly, it was my best friends from school, Serenity and Demi.

They were texting me about how my summer was and I told them it was fine. Then they asked me about my love life, so of course I had to tell them about Jordan so I had to elaborate on him and they of course sent me 'awws' and 'ooos'. Crazy girls, but that's why I love them.

Suddenly, my parents voices were becoming louder, so I had to use my pillow's to tune them out. Don't they know that their sons are in the other room trying to sleep?

Then I heard a knocking noise in my door and Stephen and Trey appeared.

"Can we sleep with you tonight? Mommy and daddy are loud and we cant sleep." Trey said while fiddling with his fingers and looking down. Stephen was also looking down, but in embarrassment.

"Yea, sure," I replied while trying to make room for them to sleep.

Trey immediately hopped in bed and Stephen was making his way next to my side, facing the opposite side of me while I snuggled next to Trey.

After moments of us not talking Trey finally broke the silence.

"Will mommy and daddy be okay?" He asked staring up at me. I hated the fact that he had to go through our parents fighting because he's only a little kid.

"Yes. Yes they will be," I stated to him. I was trying to convince him but Im sure I was trying to tell myself that too.

When I woke up I didn't see Trey or Stephen next to me. I guess they went back to their bed or went to eat breakfast.

I just shrugged it off and went to the bathroom to take a shower and brush my teeth.

After that I put on some dark washed jeans with a red marvel shirt and red TOMS. Then I put my hair in a messy bun and put mascara and eyeliner.

I headed to the living room to watch T.V because I wasn't that hungry. I was about to text Jordan and see what he was up to but my mom came into the room looking furious and stressed.

"Oh hi honey." She sighed and put her hand through her wavy brown hair. I really admired my mom for her beautiful brown hair. She was so beautiful and I couldn't help but feel insecure around her even though she was my mother.
