Today

Today is the day I've decided to be me,

For today, tomorrow, and the rest of eternity.

Today is the day I'll believe in myself,

Think my own thoughts,

and ignore useless, pestering jests.

Today is the day I let myself free,

I'll do what I love,

Not caring who sees.

Today is the day you are my tyrant no more,

Your bitter words flow,

But they can't win the war.

You can unleash your armies,

But trust me,

You can't stop me from being who I was meant to be.
