"She's not your sister.” Kenzie stated. I looked up at him, eyes wide. She wasn't my real sister, yes, but I had taken care of her. I looked at Haylie and saw her giving him the same look. He would break soon.
“Please....before you end me.” I pleaded.
“Fine.” As soon he said that Haylee jumped into my arms, dropping her weapon. I wrapped my arms around her, and felt the cool metal of a small dagger being slipped into my pocket.
“You sure?” I whispered.
“He’s done enough.” She whispered back. I pulled her off of me, giving her a reassuring smile. Haylie had tears running down her cheeks, and I could tell she was scared.
I glanced at Nate from the corner of my eye, and told him everything in a look before focusing onto Kenzie. “So, are you going to hide behind your gang or kill me yourself?”
