I walk to my bus stop and see my friend Anna waiting while on her phone

"Hey are you excited for today?" She asks
"Not at all you?"
"Kind of"
"Well I just want it to be over with"
"Me too" she says as the bus pulls up

We get on the bus and sit next to each other

The bus stops at the school and we walk in

We got an email this morning saying that when you come to school to go straight to homeroom so we both go

She's in my homeroom so I'll be fine

We sit down next to each other and take a look around the class at the other new freshman scared of what's to come for our first day

The teacher walks in and tells us to stand up

We all listen and stand up as she calls our names pointing to where we have to sit for homeroom

*no certain order for any class just names I found online*

"Okay so we have Aaron, Aiden, Austin, and Adrian in this row. Adam, Alyssa, Ben, and Brett in this row. Caleb, Cameron, Ethan, and Zack in this row. And finally Jane, Zoe, Claire, and Anna in this row"

We all sit down and I notice I'm the only girl in my row and the two next to me. No fair why do I have to be away from my friends

She gives us a paper copy of or schedules and a bunch of papers we have to bring home to our "parents"

Ha parents she acts like everyone has them nope I just got brothers

For the rest of the class she talks to us about the school and some rules they have

Surprisingly we are allowed to have our phones but when the teacher say to put them away we have to. There also isn't any dress code which I guess is good.

She also tells us that today and until Wednesday we will stay in homeroom for half the day and then go to our classes for like 20 minutes to get to know the teacher and lesson

She stops talking and says we can go on our phones

I text Anna about my current situation

M- I can't believe I'm stuck next to all these guys
A- lol you should've saw your face when she said your name and then all those boys
M- it's so annoying somehow I'm always stuck with boys
A- well I love boys I'd love to be in your situation I mean you literally live with 5 hot guys
M- THEYRE MY BROTHERS
A- and they're hot
M- okayyyyyy let's stop here
A- Btw that guy next to you Cameron is staring at you
M- wait what
A- yeah subtly turn and look
M- um okay

I put my phone down and look slightly to the side

He caught me looking at him and he smiles

To be honest he's really cute

I turn all the way to the side and smile back and then I go back on my phone

M- well we smiled at each other
A- Aw new love blooming?
M- I just met this kid wdym
A- just saying
M- 🙄
A- Oof he's trying to talk to you
M- what are you talking about
A- hes literally about to tap you but he keeps stopping and trying again
M- well what do I do
A- just relax and see what happens

I put my phone down and look over my schedule to 1. Show him he can talk to me and 2. Look at where I'm going

He doesn't end up tapping me but instead I get a slip of paper on my desk

I look around and he's smiling at me

I open the note and it says 'Hey you're really pretty we should talk sometime here's my number (•••-•••-••••)'

Omg omg omg did a cute guy really just call me pretty and give me his number omg

I immediately take my phone out again and text my friend

M- guess who just got cute boy Cameron's number
A- omg are you serious
M- Yup I'll show you the note he gave me after this
A- ahhhh

I decide I should probably text him so he knows I'm interested

M- hey I'm Alyssa the girl next to you
C- oh hey I'm Cameron
M- well nice to meet you
C- lol nice to meet you hey send me your schedule
M- *schedule*
C- oh we have all classes together
M- really?
C- Yup
M- oh that's cool
C- we should walk together
M- yeah!

I put my phone down and put the note in my phone case to keep

M- okay so change of plans we're in all classes together and we're kinda walking to all classes together you can obvi walk with us but I can't tell you what the note says till he's gone
A- omg this is great... don't worry I don't want to walk with you guys and ruin this upcoming relationship
M- it's not a relationship
A- it's not yet
M- 🙄🙄🙄

The teacher tells us that it's time to leave and find our next classes

I leave the room and wait for Anna

As I'm waiting Cameron comes out

"Hi I'm Cameron good to formally meet you" he says smiling
"Hi I'm Alyssa"
"So where exactly are we going" he asks
"I really have no idea"
"Well we can get lost together"

We start walking down the halls trying to find our class and I realize I forgot about Anna.

I hope she's not mad
