"Be mine." his voice resonates in my head, causing my hands to move slower in a dream-like motion. At this point, I've gotten almost none of my work done due to the little event earlier.
"Why are you smiling so creepily?" my co-worker nudges me, giving me a suspicious look. "Let me guess, something good happened?"
"More like I'm set for a life of torture from now onwards." I smile jovially anyways, the sides of my cheek blushing pink in pure happiness. "Our store closes occasionally unlike his mouth, you know."
"Ooh. Boyfriend?"
"I don't...know. Maybe." I answered hesitantly. "I mean— we haven't officially agreed to go out ye-
Tlinngg. The sudden ring of the windchime interrupts my thoughts, indicating that a customer just made their way to the rustic little bakery. I was just about to turn around and welcome the fellow— until I realised the predicament I'm in.
"Hey cutie. Won't you give me some of your buns?" Jungkook leans over the counter towards me; much to my co-worker's astonishment. Ughhh. My eyes rolled so far back I swear I saw the back of my sockets.
"W-welcome! How may I help you?" Rina greets him shyly, obviously already falling to his charms.
"Yeah. An order of Min Soojung, please." He states blatantly, much to my embarrassment. From the sides of my vision, I could see the light of disappointment from Rina's eyes as she realizes who he was.
"Since your boyfriend is here, you should leave first. I'll close the store, okay?" Rina assures me sweetly as she pats me on the back. My mouth opened quickly to deny the relationship, only to fall slightly behind the witty Jungkook.
"Yeah. She shouldn't let your boyfriend wait too long. It's cold outside, you know?" He sneaks a playful glimpse at me, as if he's forcing me to agree with him. "Your boyfriend."
"Do you know? He has ironman box-" I tried to expose him but Jungkook hurriedly covers my mouth, and Rina's face twisted more into confusion.
"Do you know? She has polkadot pant-" Jungkook points at me before getting a roundhouse kick from my leg. He groans in pain, rubbing his tummy from the impact that hit him.
"We'll be leaving first, Rina. Remember to lock the door!" I turn to my co-worker who just witnessed our blabbering. She nods slowly, watching me as I intertwined my arm with his and dragging him out of the store.
"Why did you come? It's 10pm." I held his cold fingers, warming it with my hands. Jungkook studies me carefully; his curious stare was now much more intimate, and caring, even. Right now, even the way he's holding my hand was significantly different— it was delicate, as if he's handling a lover, not a friend.
"I came precisely because it's 10pm. I came to walk you back home."
Oh no.
His sudden sweetness left my body paralysed, unable to answer with a composed sentence like I usually do. Jungkook seems to see through me, and so he gently places his arms around my body, eveloping me in a tight embrace. "I'm so happy." His voice was shaky. "So happy that I can't think properly, Soojung. You made me feel this way."
"You didn't have to walk me home....there's a bus I can take..." I burrowed my cheek into his chest, hugging him tighter. The atmosphere between us starts to squeeze my heart together— he feels the exact same way as I do, and it suddenly becomes so magical. The feeling in my gut had twisted in many ways unimaginable, it sometimes did flips when he touches me ever so slightly, gently, like a teenage boy helplessly in love.
"Then let's board that last bus home." He suggests, his bunny teeth showing as he smiles.

"Let's go sit there!" I pulled along Jungkook's hand excitedly, much to his amusement. He plops himself beside me as we sat at the very back of the seemingly empty, quiet bus.
"Jungkook." I turned to him.
"Hmm?"
"About that....I'm a little scared." I averted my eyes to the floor; too embarrassed to look him in the eyes. "It's just that...I haven't ever dated a boy before, I'm afraid you'll see sides of me you don't want to see. You might even hate me, Jungkook. I'm afraid."
Whilst I'm beginning to regret the words I've blurted out, I felt a hand over mine, squeezing it gently as it caresses the back of my hand with its thumb. Jungkook stares directly into my eyes.
"Then...I'll just learn to love every side of you."
As soon as he says that, my eyes welled up with uncontrollable tears; it's as if he's taken the weight in my heart away, replacing it with a warmness that I never felt before. My fears were gently accepted in a single sentence by him. Boyfriend. A feeling of undeniable tenderness occupies my soul, and my body felt as if it's been wrapped carefully in a blanket he has given me.
In the midst of this rush of feelings, I felt his palm slide into the warmness of my cheek, pulling it closer to him. My eyes automatically closes as he places his lips against mine. The way he kissed me was so, so gentle, and yet it melted my mind so intensely. It was almost as if I had been taken to another world; his world.
"I'm your boyfriend now." He speaks against my lips, caressing my cheek with his hand. "Understand?"
I nodded. As the both of us carried on the bus ride towards home, my heart grew infatuated and calm with him beside me. It was so blissful, that it almost felt impossibly real. As if it's going to all fade away. What I didn't know, that the calmness in my heart will soon be met with a devastating storm....
