Music Was There for Me (2 poems)

Music was there for me

in my darkest days,

when hate glazed my vision

and threatened to take over.

Music was there for me

when others were too self-centered to realize

I needed their help.

Music was there for me

when life itself seemed to

crash down all around me.

Music was there for me

when my best friend left me,

when my other friends left me,

and when they all stabbed me in the back.

Music was there for me

when I felt that I had no one to talk to,

because I couldn’t bring myself to trust again.

Music was there for me

in my time of desperation to find any sort of

hope left in this world.

Music was there for me

when the only few people I trusted

abandoned me.

Music was there for me

when the world was against me.

Music was there in my time of need

Music was there when I wanted to bleed

Music was there when I was blinded by hate

Music was there to tell me to wait

Music was there to help me get through

Music was there when I had no one to talk to

Music was there always on my side

Music was there when there was so much to hide

Music was there to always let me know

Music was there to tell me where to go

Music was there and it lighted my way

Music was there in night and in day

Music was there when I lost all trust

Music was there when I thought I would bust

Music made all the pain go away

Music made me who I am today
