Maya was being a stalker.

She was literally resembling a stalker. Currently, Maya is spying on the people who have just pulled up in a U-haul truck to the house next to hers. It was a family of 5. A mother, father, 2 boys, one girl, and a dog.

Another white family. Not that she had anything against white people, but her family were the only people of color in their neighborhood. The good thing is everyone got along in her neighborhood. Anyway back to being a stalker.

Out of the three siblings, there seemed to be an oldest out of them. He was tall like 6'2 tall. The tall stranger was helping his dad move boxes into their new house, so Maya couldn't get a good look at him. Meanwhile, the mom was trying to get the two youngsters away from the dog that was peeing.

"Maya!" She heard her mother yell.

"Yes?" Maya yelled back. Then there was silence. Here's the thing about Maya's parents. Whenever they called her name and she'd reply back, they don't say anything back. So, Maya has to go all the way downstairs to see what they want.

She turns away from yet, another white family and goes down the stairs. When she makes it down, her mom is looking out the window. Also looking at their new neighbors.

Like mother, like daughter.

"Mother, did you need something?"

"Did you see the new neighbors?" She finally turns towards Maya. Arlette was a short woman at 5'3, with a medium brown complexion, and short curly brown hair. Maya took after her mom's physical features, but she also had the physical structure of her father. Which is long narrow, arms, fingers, and legs.

"Yeah..." Maya says hesitantly.

"We should go say hi and welcome them to the neighborhood, don't you think?" Arlette says with a smile.

"I would rather go back upstairs and continue watching The Originals," since Maya was totally not stalking her neighbors.

"That show isn't going anywhere, so let's go."

Mrs. Johnson walks in front of her daughter with an easy smile, while Maya was over here nervously walking behind her with the thought that this family is going to be the one that disturbs the peace in this little neighborhood.

Arlette and Maya got to the house when the father and the oldest son were in the middle of picking up boxes from the moving truck. The dad looks up at first with a happy expression on his face.

"Hello, I'm Mark Miller, you must be our neighbor." He says with a grin.

"Hi, and yes we are your neighbors. I'm Arlette Johnson and this my daughter, Maya," Maya's mother introduces them. Maya gives them a nervous wave.

"Nice to meet you Arlette and Maya. This is my son Scott," he waves his free hand over his son.

The son finally looks up. Oh my eggos, was he attractive? He had messy brown hair that was flying all over the place but in a good way; he had striking hazel eyes; and his face was perfectly sculpted with a medium size nose.

Scott gave Mrs. Johnson and Maya a grin. Oh schist, he has dimples too? Why did Maya have to be a sucker for dimples? And his teeth were so effing straight. Lord Jesus, give me strength.

"Hey, nice to meet you two." His voice was like a BTS song in her ears. It was deep but not too deep. He held out his hand for Arlette and Maya to shake. Maya puts her small hand in his large, calloused, warm hand.

Whose hand is this warm?

"Nice to meet you too," Maya says with a small smile.

Scott and Maya stare at each other for a little while; it felt like a staring contest. Her eyes soon got tired which caused Maya to start blinking rapidly. It probably looked like she was trying to wink, just with both eyes.

Scott chuckled at her eye twitch. Maya felt her cheeks burn a little. Lord take me now.

"Well, we just wanted to introduce you guys to our neighborhood, and if you have any questions, we're just a door away!" Arlette joked.

Obviously only she and Mark thought it was funny. On the other hand, Scott and Maya were cringing.

"We definitely will. Thanks again Aarlett," The neighbors said their goodbyes and went back home.

"They were really nice," she says walking into the kitchen.

"Yeah," Maya says remembering the encounter. "They were."
