IMPERFECTION (AN INTERCULTURAL LOVE STORY )

Khalifa and I decided to stay indoor today.  Instead of me going to Abuja, he came to Lagos to spend the weekend with me.  I also was not feeling too well. 

"You think your school was stressful right, try Lasu" I said.   We were watching an American reality show,  I love reality shows.   They filmed somewhere in Harvard so Khalifa was talking about his school and how stressful it can be. 

"Lasu was so annoying and so strict.   The marshals, please don't just go there.  You know school rules was no bathroom slippers at all, the marshals took it as far as not wearing any types of slippers at all.  Most student didn't obey though"

"Did you ?" He asked.  I started laughing, he joined in.

"Me, I stubborn die, my slippers is always on point, I would even catwalk in front of them.  You see its good to be crazy in this life o.  That time Aluta spirit was highly  regarded.  And the fact that I was the Social director, I was untouchable. "  he shook his head at me laughing

"I miss those days oo.  Sometimes, I look back and I'm like I've changed  totally.  I'm  no trouble maker o but I just hate inequality and cheating.  People  thought I was this tough bad girl but then just my closest friends know who  I really was.   It was that crazy... excuse me" I got up to use the bathroom.  I did about my business and returned to the parlour

"Ini was telling me the other day that everything as changed since I left" I was saying as I returned 

"Anu, who is Desmond with the love and kiss emoji" he said holding my phone. I rose a brow

"Were you going through  my phone?"

"Just answer  my question "

"No you answer my question! Why would  you be going through my phone when you don't see me checking your phone every time you leave"

"I didn't mean  to check it okay. A messaged was sent to you and this picture came on the screen and the guy asking if you liked it this wet, what are you liking wet? I also saw the emoji you saved his name with.   I've answered your question.  Now tell me who is this Desmond guy"  he asked visibly  angry  

Actually Desmond is my friend.  I've know him for a while now even  before Khalifa.  He's  so naughty and flirts a lot.  It's no big deal to him and to me too

"And he's asking you all this silly questions, you guys flirting and all.  Him asking all this raunchy questions  and  you're  still  responding the guy sending emojis "

I see he read to his satisfaction

"Desmond is  just my friend for real and that is how he is.  He's just being naughty "

"And you feel its right to talk about all these things with him when you have a fiance. Not  just him  Anu,  most of your male contacts are saved  with all  these silly cute emojis.  Calling you all kind of silly names when you have a fiance!!" He yelled at me.

Weren't we just laughing  moments ago. 

"Babe please calm down. Those emojis are just there, it really means nothing, and the sweetheart, honey is just a compliment,  nothing else.  You yourself know this is how I was even before we became this  serious   its nothing to be honest.  These people knows I have a fiance,  they know about you" I tried to reason

"Yet they continue to flirt with. Deny it that none of these guys are not making advances at you.  Why would you even have so many male friends "
