PART 1

It seems that the scenery, the atmosphere, and the people- everything had changed almost as if they hadn’t been there in years and so they had. As they stood over-looking the new city that was now invested with stone, they felt uneasy and a hint of perplexity. As they approached the murky waters of the Stone Lake, feelings of mourning and disappointed engulf their hearts. The coastline was now being invaded by blacking waters which was plastered with the presents of unwanted spirits which was scattered until their vision point.

The air was no longer fresh and sweet but instead it was filled with a toxic mist that just floated across the surface of this phenomenon. The mist rising over their heads which covered the typical sapphire skies that usually coated the fair city. The houses that usually creased the shoreline were all gone now abandoned by the residents who were haunted by the same presents that the teenagers felt that day. It was breathtaking-this place the last time they were here and even though, through the depths of repulsiveness there, there was a great beauty still hidden behind the black rigid rocks and mysterious waters.

Avery saw this magnificence, she felt awkward at first as she thought she had been the only one. She looked across to Zander their eyes meeting in one prefect second-that instant link. Zander felt it too, the connection. The thing that really amused Avery is that she didn’t plan it this way. It had been a series of unexpected events that lead them up to this moment this position this place. It all started one week ago on Halloween, the night of wonders where dark mystical creatures lurk the street searching for innocent passers-by ready to consume their souls, so that their presents may grow stronger and override their existence as unwanted spirits but might transform themselves in to something human.

The group laughed out extensively as Olivia went off on her crazy spree of trying to scare her best friends. Instead, it had turned into another opportunity to get a few more laughs to reduce the tension of the night. It was the night of the Halloween dance and all the friends where in the mood except for Avery, Elliot and Madison who was definitely on edge since they had planned the entire thing. As they walked through the halls of Annabelle High School the wall was plastered with plastic cobweb and black tranquiller spiders hooked on to it. The girls didn’t say it out loud but Avery, Elliot and Madison had done a great job and the place really spooked them out.

As they walked into the open gym which had been transformed into masterpiece of moral death which certainly overlapped with the supernatural theme, the girls were a bit unsure if they would survive the night. The stage was lined with red glowing eyes and with a closer look it was evident that they belong to the outlines of unknown creatures that the girls didn’t want to even be close to. From the ceiling there were demonic looking mass faces that had eyes that stared straight into your subconscious. Then just before the girls thought they had seen enough Ellie stumbled upon the gem of the night or should I say nightmare.

The creature was about seven feet tall, its hands and arms covered with a thick black fur which carried on throughout its’ entire body. It stood on it hind legs, his teeth hanging out of his mouth, saliva dripping to the floor like a waterfall. His eyes red and deadly the girls back away a little terrify by the monster. Avery giggled a little by the expression on her friends’ faces. The five girls frolicked around the gym assisting Avery with the finishing touches with the decorations and the setting up of the stage for the expected performances.

This Halloween danced definitely meant more than any other dance that the girls had attend for the year, in a couple of minutes this hall would be filled with nerds, the popular kids, band members, Goths, loners and the list could go on and on. But one night, a night where self-expression was awarded and not despised, a night when nobody cared who you were and a night where you could be anyone or anything you wanted. As the crowd piled in through the large double doors the room came to life as the other students were overwhelmed by the incredible work that the girls had done.

Avery had been delighted that everyone had liked the job she had done, but standing alone on the dance floor strutting an elaborate emerald colored dress that flowed transversely on the silky floor as she moved ,her mind drifting back to that one special someone. The dressed made with royalty in mind, the simplicity contrasted with the exquisite detailing which could have only been observed under proper inspections. Avery was a hardcore believer when it came to falling in love, she actually believed in meeting that one special someone for the first time and somehow knowing right away that it was just meant to be.

“Hey Avery” a deep voice muttered from behind her. Her face lighting up swiftly, her cheeks becoming rosy her hands pulling away from her face lowering her mass face exposing her identity .Her eyes glittering through the night as it was high-lighted by the glimmering light that was coming from every direction. Her heart racing now she could possibly be meeting her prince charming tonight she had been right all along and her hard work was going to pay off, now turning completely around and facing her probable prince her heart was shattered when it had only been Zander.

“Oh…it’s you” she answered the disenchantment evident in her tone of voice.

‘’Hey…wow it’s so nice to see you too Av…” he replied offended by Avery’s answer. The two exchanged a few serious looks but then burst out laughing. His grey eyes piercing at her and then looking away suddenly when Carlene had arrived.
