Chapter 2

There was a roaring engine sound behind us. We broke the kiss both breathless and exhilarated. We turn to see a 44 meter motorboat tearing the ocean towards us. The sun shone behind it making it just a blurry black shadow shooting directly at around 30 knots. The bow of the boat was slicing through the strong elevating waves.

Jackie let out a loud shout and I pulled her closer to me. The sailor swerved abruptly and a large wave crashed down on us. I gasped for air when I rose and he bent over his boat smirking.

"Didn't see you there kiddos", he called. "What are you guys doing so far away?"

"Putain! Tu m'as fais peur!" Jackie snapped and I was pretty sure she wasn't answering the question.

The man beckoned us with a friendly smile. "Hop on".

I chuckled, he wasn't serious. We sure weren't gonna just get on a boat with a complete stranger. No matter how tired we were from swimming or how tempting his boat was.

"No it's not a problem ..." I turn to see that Jackie had climbed on board and was smiling down at me. "Jacqueline what the hell?!"

I pounce into the boat quickly before he drove away with her. I felt kind of cold being out of water and the shade over his deck blocked away the warmth of the sun. I looked around at the endless ocean ahead as the boat gently rocked from side to side. The boat was small. The steering wheel and all the operating machinery were in the center. At the back were two lines of chairs facing each other. The V shaped front was empty mostly for fishing purposes but I could see myself placing a rug and pillows all over that space so I'd lay back and watch the stars every night.

"C'est beau", Jackie remarked.

"I'm Zack", I introduced offering the gentleman a hand.

He shook it with a smile, "Pleasure. I'm Thomas and welcome to The Thomas".

"You named your boat after yourself?" I smirked and he nodded holding back a laugh.

He stretched a hand at Jackie, "Hello there".

"She's French and speaks no English", I told him.

"Français?" he bent over and gave her a kiss on both cheeks. "Paris is where I feel in love".

Jackie giggled politely, but she gave me a look that said 'What a freak!'

Thomas pushed the boat at full speed and darted across the ocean. I wrapped my arms around Jackie who seemed to be squirming like excited four year olds on their way to Disney World. The sun peaked at us behind the shade still generously pouring warm beams.

"It's a beautiful day. I came out to fish", Thomas blabbed.

"Hope we haven't spoiled your plans or anything", I responded though I really didn't give a damn. I tightened my hug around Jackie smoothing my hands across her soft arms.

"How could you be dating a girl who speaks no English?" he asked and turned to check her out. One of things why I liked girls who weren't dashingly attractive was how other guys looked at them. Thomas only gave a quick glance and it satisfied me that she was all mine. Or so I assumed.

Jacqueline pushed me back on the chair and sat beside me. I turned to face her and she gave me that tender smile that I eventually started to understand.

"J'aime t'embrasser", she said then bent down to kiss me on the lips again. I held her face and allowed her to control the kiss as she pleased.

"Take it easy fella's", Thomas called from front. Jackie gently pulled back after leaving me dazed up and motionless. Through squinting eyes I watched her walk over to Thomas.
