Wave: chapter 3: it's different now

I dress in a simple white 'v' neck t-shirt, deep blue skinny jeans and white sandals.

I brush my hair and pull it back into a ponytail, grab my bangs and pin them up in a spiral.

I spray perfume and brush my teeth.

I eat breakfast and drive myself to school.

Dad gave permission for Arianne to stay since she needed to practice for the competition.

"Ren" Cameron calls for me.

"Where's your sister?" He asks nervously

"She stayed because she's gonna catch some waves today" I said looking directly forward into my locker.

I continue to take out the books I need and put in the books I already used.

"Oh okay.. I thought I needed to go to the shop to get flowers" he sighted in relief

Am really happy Cameron cares for her, but sometimes am just really jealous of my sister.

I mean dad loves her, he loves me too, but Arianne is probably his favorite. She has Cameron and she is one of the best surfers I know.

Either way am competing against her in the competition in two months and she always gets more practice than me.

"You okay?" Cameron puts his hands on both my arms and turns me to face him.

I look into his eyes.

"Yea. Wanna surf after school?" I try to change the topic

"Yea sure" he smiles and gives me a tight hug.

In geometry I sit in the back, just because am tired and am not gonna put up with all the shit Mr. Lake is gonna say.

I see Harry walk in the room. He sees me quickly and sits behind me.

I smile at him and he smiles back.

"Are you okay? You seem kind of down" I like that he realized it

"Am okay, look um.. Would you like to go surfing after school?" I ask

"Where?" He ask

"On Bondi beach" I say

"Yea sure" he says

"Great" I say and turn away

The bell rings and we are out.

"I'll meet you there okay?" Harry asks me

"Okay" I answer and he picks up his pace.

Cameron, Kyle, Ashley, Arianne and me sit on the warm sand.

Am putting wax on my board and the rest are chatting as I see harry stepping out of the trees.

He has a white board under his right arm.

He spots me and walks.

"Everyone this is Harry. He goes to West High too" I say and stand beside him.

"Yea I've seen you around" Ashley says

"Harry" Cameron says and shakes his hand

"Harry! Haven't seen you in a while" Kyle says

"Yea I didn't go to West High for a week" Harry says to Kyle

"You two know each other?" I ask Harry

"Yea we do. Kyle is the son of my father's best friend" Harry says

"I've never seen you two hang out" I say
