Chapter 4- You don't always get what you want... well most people don't

MELISSA'S POV

I pick Brooklyn up and stand up and put her on my hip.

"Come on baby girl lets go get you something to eat" I say and grab one of her little hands

"Liss wait" Aidan says and I just ignore him and keep walking away

"Melissa please we need to talk" He says again.

"There's nothing to talk about." I say turning to him to finally get a good look at him.

He hasn't changed at all.

His sandy brown hair has the same look but a tiny bit longer.

His sapphire blue eyes are just as beautiful as they've always been.

He's dressed in dark washed jeans and a white button up short sleeved shirt.

"Yeah there is, just give me one dinner" he says

I resituate Brooklyn on my other hip and she latches onto a loose piece of my hair.

She's not pulling hard so I let her hold onto it.

"No Aidan. Go away. I'm working now and you can't be back here" I say and walk away from him quickly

I think I need that extra break now.

I text Cole telling him that I'm gonna take my break now which he responds to almost instantly saying go for it.

"Hey Whitley I'm taking my break now" I tell her and put Brooklyn into a bassinet and head towards Cole's office hoping Aidan got the message and left.

Instead of walking the regular path and be in sight by the front and possible Aidan, again, I take the back way to Cole's office.

I walk into the kitchen and then a little room which is connected to Cole's office.

When I get to the door leading into his office I put my ear to the door to hear if there were any voices, which all I heard was Cole trying to convince someone that I wasn't here.

Okay knowing how close Natalie and Aidan were Natalie probably came with Aidan today.

So I have a 50/50 chance of the person behind this door is the person I never wanna see ever again or a person I wouldn't mind seeing on last time before I take Harper as I on a long vacation and start looking for a new apartment in a different city. And possibly a new job.

Uggghhhh.

The letter I wrote him specifically stated that I never wanted to see his stupid no good mean lazy ass ever again.

Well maybe not in those words.

I get why he did what he did but he always said he loved me and I was he world.

What did I do not to please him?

We were together all together for about six years.

Six.

I spent six years of my life with him.

Why am I even thinking of him?

Melissa stop just stop. He isn't worth anytime of you day.

I actually shake my head to try to get rid of the memory of him.

You know what fuck it.

If it's Aidan behind that door I'll have Cole to have my back if it all start tumbling down. Which I'm sure it probably will.
