Purpose
Don't Give Up is a promotional short of my next long story, which goes under the working title PROJECT ACHILLES. It will feature the continuity of this short story.
PROJECT ACHILLES will be about a galactic war between humanity and the Dominion – a union of many systems and species under Elven rule. The Dominion put castes into their social system, with Elves and Orcs at the top and middle with the Kad’al Lizards and Monuyeta humanoids at the bottom. Project Achilles is a mix between fantasy and science fiction, and it will follow human soldiers and their encounters during the war, specifically in the Colony of New Paris.
Despite the envolvement of Elves and other Fantasy creatures, PROJECT ACHILLES will not incorporate fantasy-related things such as magical powers, gods, etc.
About the Short Story
Don’t Give Up follows two soldiers from the 506th Orbital Drop Regiment (Airborne) whose outpost was attacked whilst on a ‘quiet’ sector of Alliance territory. This is the story of their escape to the evacuation point and their eventual stand against a hunter killer team sent by the Dominion.
