Author's notes. I hate them. Whether they're at the start or the end. They're annoying. I honestly couldn't care less about your cat called sandy that recently ate a goldfish called bob. Please, leave these things to messages. Broadcast to your fans if you can't write for some reason.
But please, JUST PLEASE, stop telling me about your life in the notes. I'm there to read the story, not read about your life. If your life is so important write a book about it (see what I did there?)
I know I sound mean but I just really don't want to read an author's note that is longer than the actual story.
The worst thing is when people put one at the start and one at the end! At least keep it to one if you must write it at all?
