I own the story, but not the idea. The song belongs to it's writers, which I am obvously not.  Song on the side.

Enchanted by Taylor Swift

Once again my friends had dragged me out to the bar. I wasn’t really a fan. It was always the same. I’d fake a laugh and smile at the people in the dull and never changing club. The music blasting in the background never really making me feel anything different. But of course they didn’t care. I needed to get out more. I was supposed to have fun. They’d hook me up with endless guys who were all the same. They were all too sleazy, too forward, not forward enough, too childish, too unimaginative, too sweet, too good to be true, or a total jerk. You’d drink with them once and one dance. Sometimes by the end of the night you’d even kiss them. Regardless the next morning you realized that he wasn’t worth it.

I was sitting at the bar drinking my glass of wine. My eyes kept darting around the too small and crowded room full of fake people when I saw him. He was different from the rest. Our eyes met and he headed across the room towards me.

“Have we met?” He asked. I shrugged. “You just look so familiar.”

“Really? I’m Cassie,” I said smiling.

He smiled back, “Connor.” He sat next to me and got himself a drink.

“This isn’t really my scene,” I admitted.

He looked over, “Huh. Mine either, I had a friend bring me and then ditch me for some chick. Must have been ten years old too.”

“Maybe she was just going for that youthful look,” I offered.

He laughed and shook his head, “He looked a bit like he was kidnapping her. She must have way overshot it.”

“Not into toddlers,” I gasped. “I guess your friend was.”

We both burst into hysterics, “You’re an odd girl.”

“No,” I countered quickly, “I’m one of a kind.”

We sat talking and making fun of the strangers in the club till around two AM when I headed out to walk home after giving him my number.

As I walked home alone I couldn’t help but smile. The stars were sparkling brilliantly in the sky like little pieces of diamond. I thought back to Connor. What a great guy. I felt the blush in my cheeks. I was so amazed at him, he was just wonderful. Matter of fact, he was the first nice guy in that club ever. I smiled up at the sky. I knew for sure I’d never forget tonight. I wish I’d told him how much I liked his company. I shook my head, I sounded like a school girl with a crush.

As I got home I took to pacing. Should I have said something about it? Asked to meet for coffee? I sighed; I’d never really been much for second dates. Although it seemed crazy, I really liked Connor. I went from drinking coffee to pacing. What if he had a girlfriend? I was after all just a random girl he met in a bar. He could have been out drunk with a friend. Was it wrong to hope he’d call? But then again he could be at home now with some gorgeous girl who was waiting for him to get home.

Around three he called, “Can I come see you?” I gave him my address and waited pacing even more than before. He knocked and I opened the door. Suddenly I felt his lips moving on mine softly. I was stunned for a second before I wrapped my arms around his neck. We quickly broke apart and smiled our foreheads touching. “Hey. It was enchanting to meet you. I forgot to tell you before you left.”

“I was enchanted to meet you,” I agreed nodding. We went to sit on my patio. The stars still sparkled like it was on crack. We sat smiling in silence.

It was flawless, I’d never had a night like tonight. What a great night it had been.
