Christa's POV

The rain still fell, filling up ditches and blurring street lights, as did my tears.

My bag was killing my shoulders by thirty minutes of walking, so I stopped in an alleyway to rest; it was my safest bet. I sat longer than I expected, falling asleep against the cold brick wall against my back. I awoke shortly after to the sound of singing;

Tell me again why you're running away
Do you need me?
Nobody's home and there's nowhere to stay Do you believe me?
Maybe I can't be the girl of your dreams
But I can save you
You were never really gone and it seems That you can feel it too
We won't see the stars if the sun is in our eyes
So don't look so surprised

Because it's just another reason why a fool like you
Would listen to a fool like me
I'll do what all the idiots around you do
And show you that you'll never be free
You're not supposed to feel this wright
One is always better if you can't have two
Now that I have nothing while can't have you
You left me once
Don't you leave me twice
'Cause no one is alone
No one is alone--

"H-Hello?"

The tall woman looked back at me, letting her guitar hang down by the strap over her shoulder. I mentally screamed,  realizing who it was; Ymir.

"Yeah, kid?"

I gulped.

"You're Ymir, r-right?"

The woman sighed.

"Yeah. What are you doing in the alley?"

"I- uh, n-nothing."

Ymir scoffed. "You're a terrible liar."

---

Ymir took me to a coffee shop, treating me to a warm drink.

"I was asleep?"

"Yeah," Ymir replied, running her long fingers through her dark hair, "You were out in the open too. I was keeping an eye on you. Are you homeless or something?"

I waved my hands, blushing.

"N-No! I just... I... ran away from home."

"After my show?"

This made me blush more.

"You knew I was at your show?" I already guessed how she knew, I was just surprised she could tell who I was aside from the plenty of other fans there.

Ymir nodded, mixing her coffee. I sighed, sipping the hot chocolate I had ordered.

"How old are you?" Ymir questioned, leaning her elbow on the table, propping her head up with the heel of her hand.

"15."

"So you have no where to run to?"

"N-no..."

"Stay with me then."

I felt my cheeks burn as if they had exploded into flames, as I looked up to Ymir.

"W-what?" I managed to squeak.

"Stay with me. I have an apartment not too far from here. Just by that alley, actually."

"A-Are you sure? I'd j-just be trouble. You b-barely know me." I stuttered out, clutching the table.

"I don't mind. I've taken a liking to you. What's your name?"
