Quick Summary: A light, fun read, but not at all memorable.
Title: Grave Sight
Author: Harris, Charlaine
Imprint: Berkley Prime Crime Books
Date of Publication: 2006
Grave Sight is one of those light, slightly silly mystery novels that achieves nothing more memorable than being entertaining while it lasts.
The "detective", Harper, is a young woman with the semi-mystical power to be able to determine a cause of death simply by being in proximity of a corpse. Harper and her step-brother, Tolliver, travel the U.S. helping law enforcement authorities to find bodies and pinpoint murders. In this particular tale, Harper and Tolliver investigate the murders of two teenagers in a small mountain town. Local politics, family relationships, and a romantic sub-plot all come into play before the mystery is solved. While the writing style is pleasant, too many clues are dropped and the solution to the mystery is obvious long before the book ends.
