part 9

lyla stepped on her porch, as excited as ever, being able to go meet her new best friend.
also, she hated starbucks, but admired lucas so decided to suck it up and go hangout with him, which she couldn't wait to do.
she walked a few blocks before reaching the sign with the window saying, 'starbucks' , she mentally rolled her eyes as she thought this place was gross and overpriced. she didn't really like coffee in general, as she always had had a liking for tea.
she walked in smelling the aroma of coffee. she gagged a little as she breathed in, taking in all the scent. it was nice and warm inside tho, which she liked, as she looked down at her cold red hands that had just come from the winter air outside.
she sat down at a table for two by the window because she admired the outside, and liked to watch as the people walked by the window. she watched and waited patiently, but in the back of her mind she wondered if lucas would ever show up, maybe he wasn't lucas, she didn't really know, but she was having her bets that it was him, and that he would show. let's hope he wouldn't let her down.
as a few minutes passed she pulled out her phone and asked lucas when he was coming, he responded with this,

sorry i'll be there soon! there is a lot of traffic on 24th street but i'm trying my best, see you soon <3

lyla sighed in relief as she knew it wasn't lucas's fault. she went up to the barista and decided to order lucas a coffee because she was feeling generous, she bought him a caramel latte, and handed the barista the three dollars and eighty seven cents. as she walked to the end of the counter to receive the coffee for one of her favorite boys, she heard a ding come from the door and she watched as a curly brunette stepped into the warm coffee cafè. she grabbed the drink and headed over to him, not looking away from him the entire time. he finally had spotted her and waved, before she had reached where he was, she handed him his drink and said

"i felt generous to buy you a caramel latte"
"why thank you"
the boy said setting it down at the table but not losing eye contact.
suddenly lyla had he sudden urge to hug lucas so she stood up, him following, and put her arms around his cold body, taking in his scent. they stayed there for a few seconds, his arms around her waist, and her arms around his back.
