Double Trouble

Chapter 6

  I wake up in the corner of Gillian's room with my head on Louis shoulder.

I hear faint whispers of the doctors and nurses walking in the hallway.

Louis- hey sleepy head..

Emma- how long was i sleeping?

Louis- about 7 hours..

Emma- What! Did anything happen. ? How is Gillian ?!

Louis- Emma calm down.. she is fine the doctors checked her blood and heart rate. And they said she is gonna be fine. She woke up once and she asked for you .. but i told..

Emma- why didn't you wake me up !

Louis- because she didn't want me to...and before you fell asleep you said something about her being the only real family you have left..

Emma- oh yeah.. i said that didn't i ..? well umm its a long story.. did you know that i was adopted..?

Louis- no.. i didn't ..

Emma- ohh, well i am and so is Gillian.. we have the same birthday and the first time we seen each other we had the same feeling. At first i thought we were sisters.. but we are ..

Louis- ..twins.

Emma- yeah..

Louis- i always thought you guys looked alike but i never knew you guys were related. Why doesn't everyone know about this..?

Emma- because we couldn't tell many people. Her mom and dad will not believe her.. but it is too late now 'cause they are dead.. i don't know what is gonna happen to her .. she is not 18 yet so she does not have a choice where she goes.

Louis- i am sure everything will work out..

Gillian- Emma?

Emma- oh my god Gillian.. how are you feeling... ?

I ran to her bed and sat down on the side of her bed. She took my hand and said

Gillian- I will NEVER leave you.

Emma- you better not.

Gillian- i love you Em.

Emma- love you too. Don't ever scare me again..!

Gillian- ohh it wasn't my fault..

Emma- i know i am just glad you are here now.. that's all that matters.

Gillian- where are my parents..?

Niall walked into the room.

Niall- I will take it from here.. Gillian.. your parents died in the fire. And you are lucky that you made it out.

Gillian- what. You are kidding me.. they cant be dead. The last thing i said to them was “i hate you .”

i never hated them ! I loved them!

Niall- Gilly they know you love them. Why don't you try to sleep ..?

Gillian- no! I want to go home... this is not real.

Emma- Gillian, this is real.. and there is no home now. I am so sorry.

Gillian- did you tell them ..?

Emma- only Louis..

Niall- tell us what ?

Gillian- does he believe you ?

Emma- yeah..

Niall- helllo? What are you guys talking about ?

Gillian- can i talk to Emma alone.. ?

Niall- as soon as you tell me whats going on ..?

Emma- Me and Gillian are twins! We are both adopted. And we have the same birthday. We both have our old birth certificates and we have the same original last name. We couldn't tell anyone because her parents knew but didn't tell us and we didn't want to make them suspicious.

Niall- wow. That's a lot to take in.

Emma- yeah.

At that moment all the boys walked in. Along with Sam and Emily. Sam and Emily ran over and gave Gillian a hug. We told the rest of the boys about us being twins. Everyone else went home but me. I stayed with Gillian, Louis tried to stay but i told him he needed to go home and that i would see him tomorrow. I stayed awake all night, talking to Gillian even though she fell asleep. Even though so many things were going wrong, i couldn't help but be grateful for the one thing that was going right. I had a twin sister. And she was still alive and well. That's all that mattered.

It was about 2 weeks after Gillian's accident. I only left the hospital 3 times. The doctors even got me my own room right next to Gillian's just to sleep in. The only times i wasn't at the hospital was when Louis said i needed to get out of there for a while. We went to a movie but i couldn't help but think about Gillian.

Louis- babe.. are you okay?

Emma- yeah i just always think something is gonna happen when i am not there.

Louis- she is fine.. she is in a hospital surrounded by doctors.

Emma- yeah i know.. you re right

he leaned in for a kiss and i gave him one, this was what i needed. I put my arms on his neck and he grabbed my waist. We stayed like this for a few more seconds. We broke apart and he just smiled and kissed my forehead. I laid in his arms for the rest of the movie. When the movie was over i wanted to go back to the hospital

Louis- stay with me ..?

Emma- don't do that to me.. you know i want to .

Louis- i know. Can i at least take you to supper ? You can eat something real and not made by old women in hair nets..

I laughed and punched him lightly in the arm.

Emma- i guess you are right.. where are we going ?

Louis- anywhere you want..?

Emma- you pick..?

Louis- fine :)

We went to his favourite restaurant, Pizza Hut.

Emma- i had fun tonight :) thank you.

Louis- you are very welcome. I had fun too.

Emma- i have to go back now..

I got a text from Gillian

G- hey! Where are you.. i can come out now and i need a ride home. Get your ass over here :)

E- i will be there in 5 minutes! And i just went to supper with Louis.. sorry for leaving..

G- no problem just come get me! I wanna go home..:)

E- my mum said it is alright to stay with us..

G- okay ..

I pulled into the hospital driveway, i seen Emily and Zayn making out in his van. I walked over to the car and banged on the window smiled at Emily she looked up and smiled at me. I walked into the doors and seen Gillian sitting on the bench.

Emma- why didn't you wait for me to help you pack!?

Gillian- Em, i am fine. I don't need you doing everything for me.

Emma- fine. Lets just go.

We walked into my house, it looked different i haven't been here for 2 weeks. My mum noticed me and Gillian walk in and ran over.

Ella- finally, you are home.!

She gave me and Gillian a hug.

Emma- yeah haha..

Gillian- thanks for letting me stay here Ella..

Ella- anytime..:) have i ever told you guys that you look so much alike..?

Emma- no you haven't.. but we know :)

I looked over at Gillian and she looked at me. This was the beginning of our new lives. Until a certain person pulled into my driveway.
