Romance Smackdown II (2nd Place Finalist)

The Prompts

Part I

Write a modern retelling of Carmen or Madame Butterfly. I chose Carmen with a bit of a twist.  Instead of a woman doing the luring, I chose a man to lure a woman away from her idyllic life.

A/N: Aaaand, obviously my brain shows no distinction between erotica and romance.  ;)

Part II

Write the story of a first kiss. Use one of four songs as inspiration.

A/N: I chose John Legend's All of Me as the inspiration song, mostly because of the what would I do without your smart mouth lyric.

Part III

Write a menage a trois.  Does not need to be sexual, but must show inner conflict of the main character while juggling two suitors.

A/N: Inspired by an idea tossed around in a Facebook group, I wrote it about a lady praying mantis and her two gentleman callers.  :D

Part IV

Write a break up story. Two souls are destined to spend one last day with each other till split apart forever.

A/N: Whenever I think of these types of plot lines, I think magic.  Here's a white light spin on the ol' necromancy tale.

Part V

Write a love song.

A/N: See, this is why I stick to prose...I stink at poetry!
