So for this poem I wanted to something a little creepy, I was inspired by a really scary two sentence story that I heard, please tell me what you think!

M O N S T E R S

I heard my mother call me,

her voice so wise and sweet.

I went down the staircase,

in my cold bare feet.

I checked in the kitchen,

my mother wasn't there.

I checked in the living room,

there was nothing but a empty chair.

"Mum?" I said softly,

walking threw the hall,

"come downstairs, dear" she said,

Her voice made me stall,

I approached the basement door hesitantly,

A strange feeling  in my mind.

Then I heard a noise from behind me.

A shiver went up my spine,

A closet door opened,

my mother was inside.

"Don't go down there honey" She whispers,

"Run! Run and hide!"
