III : Slowly

The silence was breaking me slowly.. impatient was the best word to describe myself.. that, and nervous

Nick turned his car and then stopped at a red light.. the radio was on but it still couldn't drown out the incredible tension that I could feel in the car.. It was official.. me and him had no more that confortable silence between us.. now it was just awkward and that killed me slowly

He turned around again making me look outside as his house gates opened.. I didn't know what to say.. I wanted to talk but I couldn't find the words..

All I could do is pretend that I was texting someone and sing along with the radio to ease the tension

He parked his car and sighed - Here we are..

I opened the door just as he turned off the engine.. it was late.. pretty late.. just like I am, Paul is a perfectionist.. specially when it came to his sons..

I followed Nick inside and had the delightful surprise to hear Elvis bark just when we got here

- Hey boy.. I haven't seen you in a long time! - I said petting him - I didn't know he was living with you

- He isn't.. but my parents needed for me to be with him since they were going to stay at Joe's apartment while they're here... Did you leave your dogs alone?

I shook my head following Nick as he walked towards the familiar kitchen - No.. Marissa and Sirah stayed there.. I told them I was going to get home pretty late.. but they're already sleeping.. - I answered while Nick opened his fridge

- It's nice to have friends like Marissa.. I wish I had one..

I shrugged - You have lots of friends dumbass - I giggled - you got Maya.. isn't she like.. a childhood friend?

He shrugged crossing his arms - I guess.. but we are far from having the bond you and Marissa have..

I chuckled and felt Elvis rub himself onto my leg.. I couldn't help but pet this precious golden dog again

- I see that you're busy.. I'll get you something to sleep in - I heard him say as he disappeared towards his bedroom

I sat down and put my purse on the floor next to me as I kept playing with Elvis and talking to him

Nick came back shortly with some T-shirt and pants..

- They're a little big for you.. but it was the smallest I had - he chuckled helping me stand up

- Oh.. it's perfect.. don't even worry about it.. - I smiled taking them - but for the record, I get the couch - I chuckled

- Demi, please.. let me win just this one time - he joked putting a finger between us

- Nick, you're not gonna win - I smirked lifting my eyebrows

He licked his lips giving me a sexy look that made me want to fall on my knees

- Just this time, beautiful?

I chuckled - Don't use your charm on me Jonas - and with that I pushed past him but he grabbed my hand making me turn to him

He was looking at me but not saying anything.. somehow, the look he gave me said everything I needed to know.. said everything I needed to say now.. things I knew I shouldn't say but my heart pushed out of my mouth

- If you want, we can both sleep on your bed.. - I said making it coming out as a joke

Nick kept looking at me.. a serious expression now overpowered his shit eating grin

He was giving it a serious thought..

I looked away and closed my eyes walking towards his bedroom and then his bathroom so I could get dressed

Why did I say that? Ugh

I want to take it back.. I know I wouldn't survive that

I got dressed and tried to take my make up off with water as much as I could.. I stood there looking in the mirror taking deep breaths while my mind kept running miles..

What am I gonna say? How can I escape this one?

And what was that reaction? He actually gave it a thought.. he actually saw it as a possibility.. does that mean he is ready to take a step?

I opened the door and picked up my clothes.. I looked around the tiny hallway to his bedroom but didn't see him - Nick?

- In here

I looked to my left and walked towards the open are of the bedroom where he was.. sitting down on the bed on his phone

He looked up and smiled - You ready?

I frowned at him and placed down my clothes as I folded - For what?

- Sleeping with me..

I looled up at me.. my mouth hung open a little as I tried to process the words he had just said - I was kidding Jonas - I said rolling my eyes

- Well, I'm not..

I glared at him and he shrugged - I don't see the problem there.. we're best friends..

I shook my head and took a deep breath before going in his closet.. after I found a blanket, I turned aroun and gulped - Have a great night..

And with that, I walked away closing the door and settled down on the couch

I stood there in the dark looking around for a while..

My mind was running miles and miles.. my heart was still going wild.. I didn't know what to think.. I just was doing it.. The sentences rolling inside my head didn't even make sense..

I tossed and turned trying to fall asleep but I really couldn't.. I was in a frenzy.. my stomach hurt from how nervous I still was.. even though I was practically sure Nick was already sleeping

I eventually fell asleep.. uncomfortably.. but did.. only to be awakened by Nick picking me up in the middle of the night

- What are you doing? - I asked still not quite awake

- I'm taking you to my bed.. you look too uncomfortable.. don't fight it

I shrugged and hugged his neck while he walked towards his bedroom

He laid me down and covered me

- You're not going to the couch are you?

He looked at me in the dark.. only half of his face was lit up from the moonlight.

- I was..

I sat up and suddenly, the sleep went away.. I could only watch his expression and his eyes.. I could only feel how much I wanted to kiss him and be his

- Come here - I whispered motioning with my hand

He leaned down and supported his weight on his hands getting our faces really close..

He kept looking at my lips as I touched the side of his face.. he was so loving and so caring..

It didn't took long before his lips slowly came crashing down on to mine and moved slowly, like he was afraid I would get scared and run away

I pulled out and we both started into each other's eyes..

All my worries left my body.. all my thoughts vanished..

It was just me and him right now.. in pure silence, staring at eachother's eyes.. time ticking slowly..
