II : Rehearsal

That night, as soon as I told her what had happened, she scolded me for not saying yes right away like I should've.. I needed more help with the decision since Marissa was partial.. I knew she wanted us together.. so I ended up calling Sirah and Mathew who came to her house

The four of us talked, Mathew understanding exactly why I wasn't sure I wanted to go.. it would really be an awkward encounter, specially between me, Wilmer and Nick.. they all knew I wasn't completely over Wilmer yet and that if he and I crossed paths in a scenario like that where I was Nick's arm candy, it would be a totally uncomfortable time.. but Mathew also said something valid.. if Nick is inviting me, to his own brother's wedding.. where he is the best man.. on a night full of their family which I already know pretty well, it's probably a big deal..

I gave it a thought for a few days.. both sides of the story confusing me..

After about a week, I finally called Nicholas to give him my answer

- Hello? - he answered in a rough voice

- Hi Nick.. I'm sorry I called you this early.. did I wake you up? - I asked looking at the clock.. 9am

- No.. I mean.. yes.. I had rehearsal for Joe's wedding at the church last night and it ended kinda late.. I was going to sleep in..

- Oh.. sorry I didn't mean to bother.. I'll call you later..

- No.. it's okay.. why are you calling?.. hum?

- I.. I thought about.. - I paused finding the words in between my nervous flood of thoughts - Is your question still on the table?..

We were both dead silent for a few seconds until he finally spoke up probably remembering what I was talking about - Of course.. - he said showing no emotion on his voice

I took a deep breath and smiled - Well.. then I would love to go with you.. - I smiled

- Really? Oh that's amazing!! Thank you! Hum.. I can't wait now - Nick said with excitement in his voice.. something that I rarely heard - Hum.. tomorrow there's going to be another rehearsal.. I was walking down alone.. would you mind going with me?

The thought of walking down the aisle with him made me somewhat nervous but at the same time I could hear my heart melt

- Yeah.. where to go and when? - I asked opening a drawer looking for a pen and paper

Nick told me where to go and it was indeed late.. lucky I was in Texas..

The next day, throughout the day I was as nervous as I could possibly have been.. I trained in the morning and did some press conference after lunch.. I was going to eat dinner with Marissa and Sirah at my house since Mathew couldn't come and then they would help me get ready to go see the one that made my heart beat faster

They then rushed me out of my own house and I drove down to the church Nick told me to go.. I saw his car in the parking lot and also Kevin's so at least, we weren't going to be awkwardly alone

Marissa sent me a text saying that they were going to sleep at my house and that all beds were full.. she also said that if I had to go sleep at another house, I should go to Nick's and suck his dick

I laughed out loud when I read it.. I quickly texted her an answer and then made my walk towards the main entrance

I peeked through the heavy door and saw Joe and Sophie sitting while Paul Kevin was talking to them.. Nick, Kevin, Danielle and Frankie were sitting down and looked at the door..

Denise was adjusting the altar and also listening to Paul.. also on the bench were Sophie's parents, and two people I have never seen in person but recognised one as a character in Game of Thrones.. I couldn't remember her name though

- Hi Demi! - Kevin stood up with a smile on his face, little Alena was playing with Danielle's skirt

- Hi! - I answered walking towards them, Joe and Sophie finally saw me and came to greet me

- Let me guess.. You're Frankie's pair - Joe joked making me laugh

- I didn't get to congratulate you two in person! I'm so so happy for you guys! - I smiled giving Sophie a hug

She showed me her ring and we talked for brief seconds before I went to greet the others and meet the people I didn't know

Afterwards I sat next to Nick and greeted him with two kisses

- I'm so glad you came - he whispered in my ear making me blush

I giggled - Couldn't let my best friend go to his brother's wedding all alone, am I right?

He chuckled and we all went back to listening to Nick's father.. when we were all in a line to walk down the aisle, Alena came up to Nick asking for him to pick her up

- Alena, uncle Nick is busy now - Kevin answered

- No it's fine.. She can stay - he said picking her up.. my heart melted at the sight I had in front of me..

I couldn't help but imagine him having our daughter in his arms.. I was so sure we were going to grow old together.. I just didn't know when our forever would start..

Alena was going to be the one carrying the rings down the aisle.. Each day I saw her, she got bigger and prettier.. always resembling her father instead of Dani..

She and Nick started talking adorably about how long my hair was until Paul shouted our name getting our attention

- Guys.. we have to take this seriously.. we're all tired and the sooner we get this done, the quicker we'll go home - his dad scolded in a fatherly way - Now, after Kevin and Dani walk, you and Demi will walk behind, ok?

Nick nodded and I grabbed his arm to walk by his side

We had to stand by the side as Paul kept telling everyone what to do and what's going to happen

In the middle of the talk between him and Joe, Nick leaned onto me and whispered in my ear - It's ending really late.. if you want you can come sleep at my house.. I don't want you to drive alone at this hour

I chuckled - Nicholas! I'm an independent woman! I know how to take care of myself

Nick shook his head - No.. all it takes is one drunk driver or one speedy jackass for you to not wake up in the morning.. besides, I can sleep on the couch

- No.. you sleep in the bed.. I can have the couch.. - I smiled making him nod

- You know I won't let that happen

- Nicholas, come here and help me please - Denise interrupted before I could answer anything..

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath.. This is going to be a long night..
