Society.

Out of all the things I lack

understanding of,

that tops them all.

It is so backwards

that my brain no longer

pr o c  e  s   s   e    s

I'm so sick and tired of this thing we call society!!!

The main juvenile populace attacks,

no,

demolishes the esteem of

those that do well!!

It appears to me that those who

don't do well,

fight those that do

because they have given up actually trying!

The students that do well are

antagonized

for answers and help,

when we don't get anyourselves.

The weak minded

drag us down

and beat us with what they think is

experience.

They don't realize why,

why we strive to succeed!

I've heard the question

"What does that mean?"

or maybe even

"How do you know that?"

so many times.

It infuriates me to the point

that my blood boils in

annoyance.

Those that aren't curious,

are ferocious.

They begin to make fun,

terrorize

our smarts because they

have none!

All of us straight A

or near straight A students

must construct armour

against the attacks,

against the insults.

Some simply hide

within a box

of OUR OWN making.

We are not robots,

we get stung by

every slur,

every verbal onslaught

hell bent on destroying

what we have.

It is this

one level

of society that directs all

this aggression

onto people that end up

deciding it is unsupportable

and off-ing themselves.

Some society, huh?

Just to avoid all the insults from haters out there, let me reiterate(look it up) my whole opinion on this matter. I am fully aware on the fact that not all people that don't/didn't pull in good grades are ignorant. I also understand that they may not antagonize those that pull in good grades. This was simply a very expressive(angry) poem after a long day in class with people bugging me all day long. I've heard all the insults towards the better students and am lucky enough not to have experienced many of them. I have also heard many cases on the news of perfect students that suddenly commit suicide without evident reason until the letter is read, and people realize they were bullied for years. Bullying is a very serious matter and should not be taken lightly. For those of ou who read this whole A/N, thank you. I would appreciate any input you readers have about my poetry, whether it be a certain line, phrase or just the whole thing that you loved/hated. -The Apparent Heartless
