Truth Or Dare

We all gathered round and sat in a circle. I didn't know half the people here. The sun was setting, some people were leaving, and others were just waiting for someone to start the game. But, like Gary said, he was gonna introduce me to a few people first. He started to his right by saying, "Vanessa, this is Kyla, Fiona, Matt, Lucas, Rydon, Dianne, then you know John, then yourself, then that's Katrina, Ryan, and Jordan."

I followed each name with each face and they all seemed nice enough. But I didn't know any of them that well. Gary smiled and scanned the circle. "Lucas," he decided. "Truth or dare?"

"Dare," he said.

"I dare you to... Tell everyone who your first hookup was," Gary said.

"Okay," he said. "It was some chick at a party. Like two years ago."

"Your turn," he said.

"Alright," Lucas rubbed his hands together and looked around the circle. "Kyla. Truth or dare?"

"Truth," she said.

"Is it true that you're single?" He wiggled his eyebrows.

She had a look of disgust on her face but nodded. "Yeah, but there's nothing wrong with that."

Lucas held up his hands and nodded.

"Ryan, truth or dare?" She asked.

"Dare," he said.

"I dare you to.... Prank call your parents," she said.

He whipped out his phone, dialed some numbers and put the phone on speaker.

"Hello?" His mom answered.

"Ello, love. Why aren't you here? You said you'd help me find my way around," he said in a British accent.

"Uh... I think you have the wrong number..." She said and hung up.

We laughed and I laid on John's arm. I was getting pretty sleepy.

"Vanessa, is it? Truth or dare?" Ryan looked at me.

"Truth," I said. I was horrified of dares.

"Is it true that John and you are a thing?" He asked.

I shook my head. "No we're just friends. I've known him for four years."

"Okay, okay," he nodded.

"Your turn," John said.

I scanned the circle and debated on who I should pick. "Hey, Rydon?"

"Yes, twinkle toes?" He looked at me.

"Truth or dare?" I asked.

"Dare, obviously," he said.

"I dare you to admit the reason you're a jerk face," I said.

"Oooooh!" The circle laughed.

His face went smug, but you could tell he was mad. "I'm only a jerk face to you, dancy."

"Yeah. I dare you to admit the reason why," I insisted.

"Maybe another time," he said.

I rolled my eyes and let it go.

"Jordan, truth or--"

"Dare," she said.

"I dare you to... Come sit in my lap for the rest of the game," he patted his thighs.

She hopped up out of her spot and made her way to him. Then she scanned the circle. "Fiona, truth or dare?"

"Truth."

"Is it true you're a virgin?"

"So? At least I have dignity," she snapped.

Jordan just sat there astounded.

"Truth or dare, John?" She looked at him.

"Eh, truth I guess. I'm too lazy for dares."

"Is it true that you like Vanessa?" She asked.

"Not in the way you think," he said.

She nodded.

"Matt, truth or dare?" John asked.

"Dare."

"I dare you to sing a Katy Perry song," John laughed.

"Okay, I got you," he cleared his throat dramatically. "BABY YOURE A FIREWORK!!! COME ON SHOW ME WHAT YOURE WORTH! MAKE YA GO--"

"Okay we're good," John laughed.

I was doubled over in laughter and so was everyone else.

"Okay, Dianne, pick one," Matt said.

"Truth," she said as she composed herself.

"Is it true that you'd go out with me if I asked?" He asked.

Surprise crossed her face. "Are you asking me out?"

"Depends on your answer," he smiled.

She nodded and he went to sit with her. She looked at Katrina. "Truth or dare, girl?"

"Dare," she said.

"I dare you to... Twerk, I guess I don't know," she laughed.

She shook her head. "Gary, truth or dare?"

"Dare."

"I dare you to say the alphabet the fastest way possible."

He attempted it and we applauded his efforts.

"Next activity!" He smiled.

"John, can we go now? It's eight o'clock," I said.

"No, y'all can't leave yet!" Gary pleaded.

"Well, I'm gonna get a soda," I stood and went into the kitchen.

I got a red solo cup from the counter and filled it with ice and opened a Dr. Pepper and poured it in. I saw two hands slam on either side of me.

"Thought I left, huh?" That perv's voice whispered in my ear.

"Get away from me," I went to elbow him, but he caught my arm and spun me around, making my back hit the counter.

"No, sweetie. You're too pretty to be all alone," he smirked.

"Who said she was alone?" Gary's voice boomed.

The perv looked at him and held me to his chest. "I've got her. You can't take her."

"Let her go, Dan. She's a good person. Just let her go."

"No."

"What's takin so long with them drinks, Gary?" Rydon walked in and looked at the situation I was in. He looked at Dan and his eyes narrowed.

"Dan, I'm gonna give you till the count of one to let her go right fucking now," Rydon snapped.

Since when did he care?

Dan let me go, pushing me towards Gary and Rydon in the process.

"Do you want me to call Juvy now or later?" Rydon asked.

Dan left the house and I looked at Rydon.

"Th-thank you? Since when do you care what happens to me?" I asked him.

Rydon looked me dead in the eyes and said, "I may hate you, but I would never wish that on someone."
