Please note that I don't in any way claim for this "story" as posted here to be a complete work.  This is a collection of writings related to a project on which I've been working for some time.  It includes a poem; a script, if you will (although it has no dialogue, I cannot think of a better way to describe it), for a short film; and various other scribbles, including some illustrations in the future.

"Petrichor" is an allegory for a relationship between two people who really don't belong together.  One is unloving, uncaring, seemingly incapable of emotion.  The other is a playful and fragile being, someone so full of life and love that the rest of the world seems bleak and barren by comparison.  The bond between the two can never work... unless the love of one overcomes the indifference of the other and ignites a spark of life within him.

Although there is no questionable content in this story (I hope), I have rated it PG because of the themes it represents.

Where did I get the title?  The word petrichor comes from the Greek words petros (meaning "stone") and ichor (the blood of the gods), and it means "the scent of rain on the dry earth."
