I softly smiled as I gazed upon the window, well Jimmy had already made some friends. It really

does suck, you know? It's the summer on a Friday, 2:45pm, and back at home I would have a list

of things to do, that would involve hanging out with my friends.

Speaking of friends I haven't spoken with any of them since last Saturday.

Flashback

Julie was reading the directions for putting the face mask on.

"It says you need to wait 30 minutes for it to dry. " she explained to me.

I glared over towards the closet and stuck my feet into her slippers.I flopped onto her bed, and

stretched my arms out.

"30 minutes, we'll what are we gonna do until then, our faces are coated" I asked.

She walked over and threw herself onto her bed.

"20 questions " she asked me?

I shrugged my shoulders.

An hour into the game, a pebble was thrown at Julie's window.

She hopped off of her bed and rushed to see who the mystery messenger was.

" Hey Mich. Hey Cade" she greeted them emphasizing Cade's name.

I scurried to the window.

" Hi, Mich " I smiled.

" So what you're ignoring me now " Cade yelled.

I batted my eye lashes. " What ever do you mean " I asked him.

He gave me the death glare.

" Hello Cade " I laughed.

" Hi Martian " he teased.

I realized why he called me Martian at that time. Our face masks!

"Can you come out" he asked me?

I turned around and looked towards Julie for her opinion.

"Why are you looking at me, go down, it's alright " she encouragingly smiled.

I rushed to wipe my face off and ran down her stairs.

There stood the face of beauty, Cade.

We had been friends since the 3rd grade ( I'm going to the 10th, to inform you ) and every time I

saw him my heart would explode with joy!

" What's up, Cade " I asked him?

He shrugged his shoulders and motioned for me to come and follow him.

We had been walking for 10 minutes and he hadn't said a word he would just sigh to himself.

I began to get really flustered with myself. Why wasn't he saying anything?

I decided that I would have to be the one to break the ice.

" It's sure cold outside " I said.

He paused, "There" I thought to myself, " Now he's gotta say something".

To my dismay, though. He threw me his jacket.

I decided that it would be more interesting for me to count the amount of trees.

Just as I was about to reach the 24th tree, Cade finally decided to talk.
