I didn't expect for him to help me so soon but he did. And that just made me respect him even more. He knew most of the things about and I wanted to know about him but I didn't. Why? Because that would mean we were getting closer and it is something I can't afford, not with my numbered breaths anyway.

"Are you stupid?" Jack yelled at me.

I expected his reaction so I just stayed calm. Sam was pretty excited about meeting Jeremy but Jack was displeased because I asked for help from a stranger. But that was the thing about Jeremy, he didn't feel like a stranger.

I can see the same pain in his eyes, I can see the broken parts he refuse to mend just like I did, I could see how he has given up on life even when he had a choice unlike myself and even though he presented himself as Satan, as someone without redemption he was someone with a heart ready to help.

"I trust him," I said and Jack stared at me like I was some lunatic.

"You are joking."

"No Jack, I do trust him and even if you don't, we need to get Sam out. We need to get you out."

"And I will do that by myself."

"Stop doing that Jack. stop taking everything on your shoulder and let others help. Why don't you trust me?"

"I trust you but I don't trust a film star."

"Then you need to." I was breathing heavy know worried at what he might lash out and all plans will go in drain.

"Please," I said in a pleading tone and saw the defeat in his eyes.

"But I am booked for a fight today." He said and I sighed in relief.

"I will take Sam, don't worry."

"I still don't trust him." He grunted.

"Then let them sell me to some vile men." Sam interrupted probably tired of our banter.

That made Jack shut up.

He had taken up the role of the protector and he didn't want any of us to get hurt.

"Okay, we go after today's fight then." He said and I sighed at his adamant demand.

"fine, after the fight then. Anyways it is your last fight." I asked it more like a question.

"We will see." He said and I realized that just like Jeremy, Jack needed to fight for himself.

My shift at the charity ended and I pulled out the list from my uniform. The crumpled sheet of paper had few weird things listed and I had no idea what else to add.

Have every flavour of coffee, mend a broken person, Help Sam and Jack in every way, create a beautiful memory.

That is where my list ended, for now.
